Has anyone been to the one in Serpentine? I usually go to Paintball skirmish but for a bit of a change am thinking about organising a run for Serpentine, but, just wanted to know what peoples experiences there were like, if anyone had any?

Action paintball is the best paintball facility in Perth in my opinion with the best staff. Dman and Cheryl they people that run it are some of the nicest field ops in Perth and will do all they can to make your day the best paintball experience possible.
Make sure you get a Cheryl burger for lunch to because the are awesome..
They also have the largest Paintball shop in Australia with heaps of gear should you want to buy anything on the day.

are we talking indoor or outdoor?
I'm not a big fan of indoor, outdoor the one out in the Swan Valley is pretty good, guys there run a pretty tight ship and ive had a lot of fun every time ive been there.

I have to admit I have not. I am one of those people that gets comfortable when I find something nice, and don't go looking for change, for ages. I enjoyed the skirmish fields so never went anywhere else. I have been to the Malaga in door once with some friends, and honestly found the indoor experience to be totally poo compared to outdoor. Someone should make an indoor one in a scenario similar to zone 3 used to be. A bit better lit though. that would rock
.
I think I actually went to one somewhere up Waneroo way, maybe 12-13 years ago. God knows if it even still exists.
I have seen the ones near mash when I was playing super golf. What's that one like?

yeah on second thought - legality probably would be an issue
one day theyll invent zone 3 with a gun that gives you painful shocks or even little burns - it will be like paintballing with laser guns that actually do something, and you wouldnt have to wear those stupid packs! hahaha

I thought close range PB was legal, just not wise thanks to the pain and injury factor? I still think it sounds tops.
The shocks thing would still need some sort of pack. And once the first tool that played with a pacemaker died, might get some bad press. burney lasers sounds good though - now you really do have a legality issue though![]()
been to the swan valley one and had the bruises to show.....had a great time
firestorm on here works there on weekends and looks after the guys
yeah, and i work at the field in swan valley - and bibra lake.. ( same company )
the serpentine field is pretty good ( damien ) Dman is awesome, been playing with him for about 6 years..
There's the field in baldivis too, and matho ( dave ) is awesome..
WASP at the swan brewery is pretty good, tho a bit small.. still good fun..
there's plenty of fields SOR, you dont need to drive to clackline anymore..
Come and see us in the 2011 Avon Descent - we're racing boat #234 !
ok, i'm interested in playing regularly but last weekend cost me over $100. I would like to work out the costing on getting my own gear and joining a club or association to play say once every four to six weeks. I assume once you own the gear a refill would be $2 and 500 markers ~$20, much cheaper than paying a commercial set up but what clubs exist and what costs do they have. my neighbour is a gun nut [owns a gun shop and has a range UNDER HIS HOUSE], would it be possible to have him keep my gear in his gun safe? Unfortunately dad sold his safe 5 years ago because we didn't have 5 hunting rifles and a glock any more.
Overseas the gear is hell cheap, in South Africa my mates have their own gear and it works out to be $60 for 2000 markers [elite brand]. What is the cost here? Could I bring the gear over with me when i come back from south africa next if i got an importing licence or is it too much hard work like that?
thanks in advance for any answers
add> the bibra lake skirmish guys where tops
$100 is cheap mate, paintball isnt a cheap recreational hobby..
it's right up there with bike racing / track days..
If you buy a quality gun ~ $1000 - $1500.. + safe + rego fee's..
You'll need to run HPA, which means fibre wrap cylinders - hydro testing - air fills on your scuba's..
You'll need goggles, gloves, pants, shoes.. etc etc etc ( gear bags )
there's lots of 'ancillary equiptment', and you'll find yourself out of pocket many thousands when you start getting the bug for the sport...
that said, I'm pretty much out of paintball now.. and i've got 3 markers and all the gear.. but i'd rather spend my $200-$300 a day on my boat..
A 'tournament' gun will lay paint at a rate of 20+ balls a second, you'll empty in 30 seconds what you'd use in an entire day of recreational 'bush ball'..
Paint usually costs $80-100 for a 2000 carton ( 4 x bags of 500 ).. and you could do a carton for training, and 2-3 cartons in a day.. depending on your playing style, position and how long it takes to get shot out..
that being said, you could go buy a tippman with a couple nice barrels and a slow speed hopper.. for about $500-800.. and run on CO2.. but you'd get bored when someone with a faster gun rails you in half off the breakout, and so begins your quest for more speed/shots per second..
If you're interested, drop me a PM - I'd be happy to walk you through skills training, snap shooting, accuracy, run n gun, calls and tactics.. I did a bit of training with adam when he was over from canada and did the workshops.. they worked well for me, and I've played lots of ball.. at a couple of gravity games and all tournaments in between...
ahhh yes, prue called me and said ' you want to work this weekend '
I mean, i was all like ' er, um.. lemme get back to you '
should have told me you were on bro, we could have terrorised the corporates
( I so dont miss having to break up the punchups, gaffa tape peoples masks to their faces.. or the continual shouting 'put your f'ing mask back on you retard !' )
