Hi Guys,
Thought since this was a bike forum and hence, keeping with the bad boy image, does anyone here do any form of martial art be it internal or external?

Talk to Spock, he runs his own dojo, and is a top bloke (but not as nice as Lolly)
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

wow you guys are active on this forum. 5 replies in 5 mins....
I had a read of the links that The Saint posted. Cheers for that. Looks like many here do martial arts.
I just moved back to Perth and was training in Sydney and Thailand with my teacher and he's going to conduct a seminar over here in Perth.
Wondering if anyone here is interested.

Anyone here train Taiji? Would love to get together with some Taiji players for a bit of a push.

Looks like an effective style. It would have been good if the vid showed real life situations rather than the attacker running up and standing there waiting to be taken.
I train/ teach a style like this but much simpler. You block or take the attackers hands and attack at the same time with one or two hits with no swing or telegraphing.
When you strike with the force coming through the back leg you can impact with a hell of a lot of force really quickly and from about 10cm away.
Im no guru so I wont claim to be but I have shown some of the girls I train this method and within a few lessons they go from girly punches that would make you laugh if hit, to strikes that I sure as shit wouldnt want to be in front of.
Anyway to sum upa style that realises the power of the body in a strike is good IMO transfer of energy is the key.
Yep, striking from a good connection to the ground is important for real power.
The opponent can't move in the video because his center is taken... when your center is gone, you're stuck.
Wish the first video worked. Maybe clicking on it will take you to the youtube page.

Yeah if you click on the top it will take you to youtube and play it.
I think its a good ideology but something I like to consider is the fact that when you are attacked in most street situations there is usually the same few situations you will face. And to be effective without years of training there is some very simple stuff that can be taught.
I did a style of kung fu called Liin waan/ sarm sao and it was very street based and after every lesson I walked out feeling like I had learned 1 more thing that could help me protect myself. I then went and did Wing chung and felt like I was just stagnating and rarely felt like I had learned something effective.
Im not judging your style but I think a lot of styles forget to keep it simple.
I believe silat is kinda like that you would be interested in. Lots of locks, breaks and basically ending the fight in 2 secs.
This style of MA takes way too long to be good at as they prefer to just catch the opponent's center and bounce them. Non-harm is where its at.

This is what I really enjoyed doing something a little bit different. Ninjukai Taijutsu
Did about 15-20 mins of 2 on to 1 training the other night at training. No time to think, just attack or get beaten to a plup. I fucking love it, this is when you really get to see if what you are doing really works.
BJJ ftw.
This is my signature.
Its all good, have fun and look around for something YOU enjoy, not just what everyone says you should do.
I'm training MMA + self defence at Cobra in cannington, have only been there for a few months & just got to pro yellow a few weeks ago, I'm loving it !
