Only problem now is to do with that blue overlay layer. I have a layer stack that looks like this:

Problem is that when I enable "funky misty layer", the blue overlay layer overlays that layer too. I am having a stupid - is there a simple way of saying "No, photochop: overlay shud ONRY affect layers within the group!!" ??
    short answer/fix:
Have you tried merging blue overlay and glowy head?

    Long answer:
Dunno, i think there is. (and its probably dead simple)
    I'll get back to you

short answer - I have. It many sux0rs, the whole image goes a shade of blue. It looks just the same, in fact, as if the black background was switched off.

Trying to "select pixels" on glowy head, then creating a mask from that selection on Group 1 or blueverlay doesn't work either - the head gets very dim (I guess coz the selection is mostly < 50%).

low res psd might make it a bit more obvious...

Appreciate your help, Maxo - thank you!
