The Mrs is getting problems with Optus and MMS on an HTC desire. Keeps stopping working. Sometimes power cycling resets the settings and they work again, but it's not good. My iphone 3GS is OK on the same account, athough it failed to send an MMS yesterday which later worked.

Be interesting to see if there's any buy-in from the local governments on this. From what I've heard the developers charge them to set up and run the servers, client software is free.
Only hassle is that (under the Civil Liability Act 2002) a local council can use "not knowing" about defects in the roads etc as a perfectly valid defense against liability claims - this kind of rapid notification piles up the work queue and puts them in a precarious spot of actually having to deal with issues promptly. Dunno if they'll go for that: I hope so!

It's free, and produces things like that. I remember watching beyond 2000 a long time ago, and the camera they had doing this was bigger than a laptop and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Now a hand held phone can do it. I have it on the iPhone4 and it works beautifully.

Yeah, that's a nice app, I've had Autostitch for a while but this is a little more polished. Challenge accepted.
(btw when using it make sure the camera's position is fixed and rotate around the lens, don't move the whole unit or it looks borked)

I've had a two month hiatus from the iPhone, but since getting another one, the GameCentreCenter app has gone AWOL? Can someone point me in the direction to get it back?

Eh, that's weird. Game Centre is one of those native apps you can't delete - what firmware are you on? Settings - General - About. It was introduced with iOS 4.1 so if you have anything less than that go ahead and update. Otherwise pop into those friendly chaps at the Apple store and they'll probably just give you a new one or update it for you or something, handy like that.

Here comes the wanky part - using your accelerometer, you can point your phone at the screen, wave it around in the air and move the mouse pointer around much like you would with a Nintendo Wii, fucking sweet ass wank right there

People are booking taxis and then cancelling them when they arrive. Or just not coming out of the house. Or they're in a multi storey building and don't bother to start going downstairs until the phone beeps at them. This takes ages and the taxi has already given up and left.
The smart arses that are using stupid names on their accounts (ie No More Muhammads, Fuck Off Niggers) are getting their access cancelled.
Damn good idea though. Shame about the time wasters abusing it.
