I've always been overweight and my worst was a tad over 100kg. In the last couple years i've started eating more healthy and for the past 6 months i had been going to the gym 5 days a week, sometimes 6 with okay fat loss but it grew tiresome.

7 weeks ago I decided to start an experiment on IF (Intermittent Fasted) training, While also being on about a 1,500 cal a day restriction full of healthy food. I have my macro nutrition all sorted, and even working on my micro nutrition which will be fully done by my next 12 week experiment. I am doing zero cardio, and weights 2x per week to maintain muscle.

Anyway here are current photos of the progress......I'm feeling damn good!
Also haven't had a cigarette in a couple months, And barely an alcoholic drink for that matter.

That's a striking difference, well done. How tall are you?

Do you have joint issues? You may have covered it earlier, but why don't you do any cardio?

Thanks, I'm 170cm and no joint issues apart from my sprained ankle from 12 months ago that still hasn't healed. I don't do cardio because I want 2 days to rest and replenish the muscles, Also I'm already on a big calorie deficit so there wouldn't be much point in doing cardio i believe. My next 12 week plan will be the exact same, except 2,000 or maybe 2,500 calories a day.

Hey fitbro's, how are you going? How is the body holding up? Did you hit any big numbers this week? When did you last change-up your routine?

I'm feeling fucking fit at the moment, everything is working and pain-free. I played my first full game of footy on the weekend, didn't need a break all day and kept their full forward to one kick and no goals. Feels good man, 4th game since Auskick and I get called up as one of the best on ground.

My reward for this was a crossfit session with Brendan yesterday. Burpee box jumps? COME AT ME BRO!!

Hey CK. I'm doing ok, still mixing it up with running, yoga and fighting fit. That's great for cardio and steady weight loss, but I still need to work in some weights somehow.

last three weeks for me have been 1 awesome week followed by 2 lazy weeks with lots of food. Time to get back on the horse this week.
On the upside, I dropped from obese to overweight according to BMI. Not that I place much stock in BMI.

since i shifted my focus from weightlifting to cycling/mtb i've dropped from 87.5kg at my biggest last year to around 77kg now. my aim was to come down to about 75kg but i don't think i can handle being any smaller than i am now... on the up side heavy lifting seems to have transferred quite well to cycling in terms of having a lot of power and being able to endure pain. i put a lot of that down to 20 rep squats. plus i started out looking like a pro in lycra coz i already had the big quads.

Doing good managed 3x135kg squats yesterday and a single of 140kg. seem to be hovering around the same weight but can definitely notice my gut is getting smaller.

Picked my training up to 6 days a week and seem to be getting good results. lifts are all going up slowly but the gut is getting smaller more importantly. Getting a little bigger to.

Question. How do i bust a plateau? I've been gymming for a while now and im struggling to get my weight up all round. My squats are slowing down, im at 3x5 of 110 atm, shoulder press has virtually stopped at 42.5, and bent over rows are dead in the water at 55kg's. Everything else is progressing nicely. I've been thinking of getting some creatine and trying that out, i've heard its pretty good for busting a plateau, but i want to hear what else i can do. Thanks guys

I've slowed down on my squats and overhead press. I find by only increasing weight by 2.5kg and doing 1 or 2 reps for 3 or 4 sets so you end up doing 3-6 reps at a high weight helps keep the progress going.

Disclaimer: i am not a PT, A PT would offer much better advice.

Change up your routine for a week or two, try and do some complimentary lifts / different movements.
e.g Swap out bent over rows for single arm dumbell rows.
Play about with the leg press, do some lunges for squats.
Change out dumbell press for a military press (or vice versa).

And core work. Lots of core work.

If you're able to isolate which muscle (particularly for squats) is holding you back, work on that.
