Recommend me some simple scanning software

Hi,
At work I quite often need to scan documents to .pdf. The software that came with the printer (Epson) is just shite, all bloated and slow and useless.

I currently use Irfanview, which is fine for single pages, but can't simply scan multiple pages into one document.

So I just want something small and simple, that will scan a page, then give the option of saving or adding another page. It doesn't need to be printer specific if it works via TWAIN.

Download.com has heaps of (all safe) freeware, if that's not what you are looking for there's probably something else that will do it. I haven't used it myself, that's just the result of a search.

Try Vuescan - supports most scanners and formats - not quite sure about its latest features tho... VueScan Scanning Software for Windows 7, Mac OS X (Snow Leopard) and Linux
