    reinstalling windows

    hey everyone,

my laptop is getting worse and worse by the day, what i need to know is that is there anywhere i can get the cd for installation of windows 7 home premium, i have a legit cd key, but alas with new laptops they dont give you a cd, they make you do a backup, i could do that, but i want to change certain settings, and not use the bs factory settings

    cheers

If it came with windows 7 it should have a restore partition or similar. Worst case i can help you out with the dvd.

So you want to do a clean install without all the brand specific bloatware? You should be able to borrow most anyone's original disc and use your own CD-key. I dont have one to offer though, sorry.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon! Press the brake foot as you roll around the corners, and save the collapse and tie up.

lots of laptops will let you press an F9,F5, F-whatever key during start up and then you have the option of factory restore. (google your laptop model for more info)

This will, as the name suggests, bring you back to the factory-delivered install.

whoops, missed that bit. Yeah, obviously avoid the factory reset and go for a DVD or whack it on a USB and boot from that.

You can keep the disc I'd give you, and I'd guess Cam is offering the same.

It's just an image.. do what you like with it broheim

Actually, if you're home and on a decent 'net connection, hit me up on MSN and you can download it at home. No muss, no fuss.

***Edit: ^^^ Yup, I think so. I'm probably a day or two away from being able to get together with you buddy, so if Horidayz can hook you up sooner, gopher it

I finish at 5 in Osborne Park.

    a) I'm a bit allover the place but never really head too far north or south. Osbourne Park (Today and Wednesday), Perth Airport (Tomorrow), Vic Park (Thursday) or Lesmurdie (evenings).

    b) Nothing.

Some laptop vendors let you do a 'clean install' from the recovery partition. It is windows + hardware drivers without all the eleventy-billion other programs they install on there.
What brand + model is your laptop?
