So everyone at work is getting an iPad from work to record data on, moving away from paper records. As far as I know the software is fairly unique, and it isn't like anything else available (for the iPad at least, it's been out for PC for ages). The iPads are all individual issue items, you can do what you want with them, load your own apps etc. I think it's great as I now have an iPad to play with.
My question is how much they can be monitored remotely by our IT department. They have pre-installed profiles on them that allow remote login, contain passwords for different networks, and others I'm not sure about. I should say that I'm not trying to circumvent their controls, and I'm not looking at anything remotely shady or bad. I don't have Facebook or any other apps on here with personal information, apart from tapatalk, because I was told it is possible for them to look up any and all passwords that might be stored on here, for all apps on the iPad. Is this possible? And is it possible for them to have live monitoring on what we look at, as opposed to trolling through the history in safari, etc?
