Will be doing the Perth trail series race this weekend. Never done one before so a little un-sure of fitness requirements.

The short course is 11.5km so you'd want to be comfortable running/jogging that far on flat ground to start with.
At a minimum... I'm happy running HM distance and I was smashed at the half way mark of the first race 12km short course

It'll be tough, you've got a 250m over 4km climb. Elevation for the yanchep national park race was 40m, but it was constant up and down, over rocks, logs etc so I couldn't get into a groove. No idea what this one will be like, I am sure more of the same. Personally the next one I won't go hunting for a time, just to set a good comfortable pace. My mistake was going out too fast and trying to maintain a pace that I would normally run on the road. It worked fine on the flat limestone but no good a couple km in when we hit the sand, hills, rocks and other obstacles. I'm looking to be out there again for the Swissmurdie race.

Lee, remind me about the point walter race later in the week.
I'll probably come down for a bit of extra pre-season.

Went for a 11km medium run last night and fuck me did I struggle. I don't think Sunday is going to be quick.

More chance for me to dominate you again :-)

Bunyack doesn't dominate much other than the bench press these days.

Plus i shouldnt even be running. I've run 4 times since September. ;_;
Good luck, my run-bros. God speed. ;_;
Have you won the game recently?? Post here
I've found myself doing a lot more cycling than running nowadays.
Covering more distance = more eye candy.

And you boys get to wear lycra!
ITT: Running, not cycling.

It's definitely on the increase, but these bikes cost a small fortune and also the gear that goes with them.
Depends how far you go with it... running gear can be expensive too
Once you can ride over 40km/hr you understand wearing lycra.
I just cycle so I can wear lycra.
Kinda like bike leathers, to non-riders you look like a ponce.

Pretty happy with this mornings 7k run in south Perth
