    Will be doing the Perth trail series race this weekend. Never done one before so a little un-sure of fitness requirements.

    The short course is 11.5km so you'd want to be comfortable running/jogging that far on flat ground to start with.

    It'll be tough, you've got a 250m over 4km climb. Elevation for the yanchep national park race was 40m, but it was constant up and down, over rocks, logs etc so I couldn't get into a groove. No idea what this one will be like, I am sure more of the same. Personally the next one I won't go hunting for a time, just to set a good comfortable pace. My mistake was going out too fast and trying to maintain a pace that I would normally run on the road. It worked fine on the flat limestone but no good a couple km in when we hit the sand, hills, rocks and other obstacles. I'm looking to be out there again for the Swissmurdie race.

    Lee, remind me about the point walter race later in the week.

    I'll probably come down for a bit of extra pre-season.

    Bunyack doesn't dominate much other than the bench press these days.

    aye..... i used to run half marathons like you, then i took and arrow to the ankle.

    best times for me were

    12km 56m
    10km in 45m
    8km in 34m
    6km in 25m

    now i cant even manage 4km in under 25.
    Plus i shouldnt even be running. I've run 4 times since September. ;_;

    Good luck, my run-bros. God speed. ;_;
    Have you won the game recently?? Post here

    I've found myself doing a lot more cycling than running nowadays.
    Covering more distance = more eye candy.

    i also find its much easier on the body, your mucles hurt, but your joints are fine...i could never run consecutive days without pain, no such problem with cycling...its also much more sociable!

    MAMIL'sMiddle Aged Men In Lycra.On 6pr the commentator made a call, that cycling was on the increase for middle aged men, and she attributed it to the lycra.The next week a rep for cycling came on and challenge the commentator to ride in normal clothes for 10 minutes then lycra for 10.She said she preferred the normal clothes. It's definitely on the increase, but these bikes cost a small fortune and also the gear that goes with them.

    Once you can ride over 40km/hr you understand wearing lycra.

    I just cycle so I can wear lycra.

    Kinda like bike leathers, to non-riders you look like a ponce.

    Quick toilet break in there, or was it the water fountain?
