    Text to speech software

Hey, I'm sick of reading myself and would like to download some software for free that reads web pages for you.
I have done the trick in ms excel before but that only works while you have excel open and I don't want to sit in front of the computer listening to it without being able to use other programs at the same time.
Surely there are programs out there available for this purpose.

I've been testing a tonne of this software over the last 18 months.

Very long story short, it's all a bit shit. Different page formatting breaks different packages, none of them sound all that fantastic and it's generally more trouble than it's worth.

If you're a complete glutton for punishment I may be able to hook you up with some trial software from one of the better groups to see what you think, but I guarantee you will be underwhelmed with even the best results. Honestly, text to voice still has a long way to go.

The only 'cool' software I've seen is the one that reads images! Open a bmp or jpg of a scanned page, and away it goes.

Ive yet to see a speach to text system that works very well yet,

everything on a pc should be voice controled by now.

Nuance naturally speaking. I am currently using it to type this text. It is faster than typing for sure.
