    USPS Tracking

I have a parcel coming from the US by way of USPS international priority mail. Now their 'track and confirm' tells me it left the US via San Francisco on 9th October 2010 at 12:51am. Should I be concerned that there has been no new status updates on the parcel? I am worried it has been lost or delayed such that it won't come in the time I need it.

What is the likelihood that the parcel would fly directly to Australia? Furthermore, if customs wanted to inspect it and are currently holding the parcel, would there be a status update that the parcel arrived in Australia? In otherwords, could this be the reason why there has been no new information on the status of the parcel since it supposedly left the US?

I have tried contacting USPS, but their office is closed a number of hours before the sun even comes up here.

I purchased off ebay, so I messaged the US seller to ask if he could give USPS a quick call for me. The seller's reply was that it should be delivered by X, if it has not then he will chase it up.

This is normal. I have had many parcels delivered when it still shows that the parcel is in the states. Sadly they use contractors in Australia and the tracking ends on turnover.

Priority is usually pretty quick - i've had 2 recently from the US and they arrived in 5 and 6 days respectively.

In the past I have had an international parcel go on a round the world trip before getting to me... which delayed things a fair bit.

Also had a sender address a package to Austria instead of Australia, again got here in the end but took many many weeks.

Aus post should be able to help you if it has arrived in Aus, give them a call they are usually pretty helpful.

Thanks Jmoore. That shows that yours has flown directly to Aus, so that makes me less concerned.
Mine left San Francisco a couple of hours after yours, so hopefully it will arrive in Aus today.
What is 'bullet' though? A different delivery system or just a bullet point not working in your post?

    Here's my tracking info:
-International Dispatch, October 09, 2010, 12:51 am, ISC SAN FRANCISCO (USPS)
    -Arrival

The trick is to use Columbian grounded coffee to mask the "product's" scent so the dogs nose is overwhelmed. Just kidding... it doesn't work on the dogs (good ol' border security educating while entertaining).

Do you need it soon? My parcel is actually my lederhosen costume for Oktoberfest this Sunday, happening on Aberdeen st . That is why I need it before the weekend.

make sure you check the parcel before you sign.

i ordered something on the 9th oct.

came yesterday...my old man signed for it because he was at home.

got home, stoked to see the envelope, opened it to find some lowlife dirty cunt had ripped it open, stolen my fuckin item and taped it back up.
i hope karma will fuck him up.

Oh noes a whole thread, god forbid.

The thread is more about how fast USPS priority mailing is and whether one should see any track activity within a 9 day period.

I doubt it. Since it's mail and not express it's most probably over east and will be trucked over when they get around to it. Probably another 5 days before you'll see it.

I had an item arrive in Australia on Friday, still no sign of it.
