Want to play Left 4 Dead online for free, without steam?

Ok guys, Just figured it all out and im playing L4D online now, PM if you wanna know how. Lets get some coop action happenin!

And no you don't need a legit copy

I own it, paid for it and love the game, but hate the fucking game matching methods. If you have a better alternative, post it up kthx.

Ok heres the guide i wrote

1. Download & Install L4D (917mb)
2. Download & Install Garena - http://download2.garena.com/beta/Garena3.212Beta.zip
3. Update L4D - [L4D] Update 1.0.0.8.exe
4. Download & install the standalone L4D update - [L4D] Standalone 1.01.exe
5. Run gamera and click 'Advanced Network Settings', turn on both UPNP and specify a port, make the port 1513.
6. Click Register and make an account.
7. Port forward 1513 if you have to
8. When Gamera is open, dbl click left 4 dead at top left, and enter a room.
9. Click Settings above the chat window at bottom, locate your left 4 dead exe in the "Executable Settings", and paste "+sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0 +sv_lan 1" without the quotes in Game Bootsrap Parameters.
10. Wait for somebody to paste their IP, click START GAME above the chat window at bottom, once the game opens goto options and keyboard options, enable developers console, push tilde button `, type connect (IP ADDRESS).
11. PLAY, hopefully...

Teedo, you'd be better off using hamachi.
Also, if you're playing it with a multi core cpu, you'll need mat_queue_mode 0 to stop crashes/discnonnects.

Ahhhh how often would it disconnect? me and a mate played through 5 maps and it disconnected 3 times. Yeah i woulda normally used hamachi if i was just gonna play with mates but this program has its own chat channels full of people who are playing.

You're playing with the wrong people then..

a few people on psb have regular night time games, its hilarious baiting team members out into hordes, when they are spraying chucking a gas cylinder into their line of fire.

Oh its just a LAN "emulator" (well not really). You could do the same if you used a no cd crack with Half Life 2/ TF2 etc
