Greetings PSB weather brains trust. I know there are a few of u on here.
Just short of 12 months ago I acquired a Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station for my property down south. The weather station transmits weather info wirelessly from the station located in the middle of a paddock (pictured below), 500 meters to a repeater, which then re-transmits the weather info into the house to a couple of Davis info screens, one of which then sends the info via wifi to a craptop running Cumulus Weather Station software. This then uploads weather updates to the estate's website every 10 mins.
Get the idea? I did this so I could of course monitor rainfall and weather generally, and provide a resource for the local fire brigade to get live weather in the microclimate where the property is, which is a long way from any official weather station, and in a high risk fire area.
The weather station itself works flawlessly, but I am having issues with the cumulus software. It looses it's connection with the station quite regularly (every few days) and the only way to get the station to recognize it again is to remove battery and power from the Davis Reciever, reboot the router, and then restart Cumulus. A bit hard when I am only there on weekends.
Further, Cumulus has a habit of uploading corrupt data such as 999c max and -500c min temperatures, etc.
I'm done with trying to fix it.
So question is (yes I have one) what software are you running? is it reliable, what weather station you running with it, and do u ever have to reboot it?
After any recommendations u may have.
