    Website design + facebook app

Hey guys, just wondering roughly how much it would cost to have a website designed, and an application for facebook for that website, with mobile support..

Something like a cross between facebook internet dating and messenger, its got to be integrated with google maps and facebook for people to be able to locate others by distance ect..

Thinking of having the app similar to the facebook for mobile app.

Also can anyone recommend any designers that I could chat with?
    Cheers guys

try freelancer.com, getafreelancer, elance or just about any other online web freelancing website - put your idea out for bidding and the prices you receive will give you a good indication of what it is going to cost. (initially)

I reckon about 25-30k bare minimum (including marketing) to get anything decent that will be professional and have any chance of standing out amongst the multitude of similar facebook apps out there.

Depends. Fairly basic CMS website with a facebook app that just does summink with an RSS feed wouldn't be too hard. All singing, all dancing "Hey watch out RSVP/Lava" blarkleblorker site and app? Megabucks.

    That.
    As a ballpark figure.

yebut, you're going to have to try to explain that to the designer.
They're going to be rubbing their hands together and umming and arring, not going "hey this is the easy and cheap way".

ok so I've spent some time talking with my partner who has also been emailing a website designer..
I had a look on Odesk there seems to be limitless contractors out there who can get this put together my only obstacle is trying to explain to them exactly what I want as I will not be able to sit down and discuss it face to face.
What steps do I need to take to get them working?
    So far I was thinking:
-bring all ideas onto paper and get a rough layout drafted
-start drafting up all the links menus images colours etc
-describe how all interactive or dynamic content should operate
-speak with someone in person about what kind of people i need to hire, hours needed costs etc, logistics of building it etc
-have it put together, tested and tried, revised until its functional and stable enough to go public
-advertise and market the page and see what people think, work from there?

Im sure some of you guys have much better understanding than me so I'm open to ideas

I have an idea of how much working goes on behind the scenes of a website with coding, commands, programming etc which is why I'm a little intimidated by this and asking for help
