What part of your body doesn't work?

We've had the fact that we're unique beaten into us since day dot and whilst that carries with it diversity and all related advantages, not all of us were manufactured to blueprint specifications. Who knows, the more Doctorly of PSB might even be able to provide a tip or solution to what ails ya...

Me? My jaw is buggered!! The temporomandibular joint is like a nut too big for a bolt - it just keeps slipping out. I thought it had repaired itself; hadn't given me trouble in about 2 years til I copped an elbow in the jaw a week ago from rugby & now multiple times a day I need to realign it. It's a bitch. A painful one.

Thats not good Deano, and must be close to debiliatating?.
my knees arent great but its the mil, not genetics so not much to be done about that.
alot of people carry seemingly pointless pain though ,so i can see the thread idea.

True, but if science had the funds religion has enjoyed for eons we might have better explanations by now, or at least hover shoes.

My jaws are misaligned, I've never had a bite - cannot bite string or even bread properly.
So I decided to do something about it, as of Friday last I am wearing braces within the next year, once the braces have done their job, I'm having some pretty scary surgery on my face to fix my jaws.

Barfridge, I get socially awkward when I don't know which eye to look at when talking with someone with a "straying" eye.

What is the right thing to do? Just ask outright? Sometimes I find the eye looking at me changing and I think the person is trying to accommodate me.

Sorta off topic but it has happened enough times now for me to wanna know how to approach it. (new thread maybe?)

mm I know about this one, decided it was way to radical for me, getting your jaw busted accidently is bad enough, without putting your hand up for it. I have now resorted to cutting string with scissors and taking a couple of bites out of the bread, sucks trying to 'bite' lettuce properly.

I have lots of bits that don't work so good, but nothing that doesn't work at all, oh yeh I think it's called old age, or rather ageing

nah, fair question. I know it's unsettling to some people, so don't get upset if you do ask.
I pretty much use one eye at a time when focusing on things, but have almost normal peripheral vision using both, if that makes any sense to you. I have one which is dominant, but can switch to the other one either conciously or subconciously, depending on what I'm doing.

As I've said before, there are many many more people worse off than I, it's just a small inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. Just think, I could have been born a ginger boy!

I have the same issue as Deano, except with my shoulders. If I sleep on my side, my shoulder pops out and strains all the connecting muscles/tendons, giving me a few days of unhappiness.

And l have a lazy left eye too. I've "trained" it to keep straight but when I'm ridiculously tired it tends to stray.

Etholred- My Mum suffered from Crohnes disease and has been in remission for 17 years. It wasn't a fun time for her at all.

I probably have coeliac disease, can't be bothered going and getting diagnosed by a doctor, since it runs in the family.
If you're having trouble with reacting to things like bread and pasta as well as lactose problems its worth getting checked for it Twigs.

Thanks AliastheJester. I'll keep that in mind. Breads and Pastas seem to help balance out the lactose in eat in cheese or yogurt. I touched milk for the first time in a year and it didn't sit well with me. I'm sick of soy milk!!
But curries and anything really rich like christmas pudding is out for me- even rich gravies can set off my IBS It makes me sad panda.

Got something wrong with my jaw. Got it broken when i was 16/17 at a party. Had xrays and all sorts of things and the doctors say theres nothing wrong with it.
Strange how it clicks and crunches when i open and close my mouth and the whole pain thing. But doctors know best.

Its not really a problem ( hasnt affected me to much ) just annoying and can be painful. Im better off than most people out there.

Ps. Twigs have you ever tried Oat Milk ? its actually pretty nice, almost like a milkshake.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
