Windows 7 lost PATA IDE drive

I upgraded from vista to Windows 7 last night and in the process my old PATA IDE drive disappeared. It doesn't appear in the BIOS menu but then neither does my RAID drive. BIOS only shows DVD drive and extra SATA drive.

My RAID controller shows my RAID SATA drives and the old PATA drive but windows doesn't pick it up.

What I think is my RAID drivers, GBB36X shows up twice in device manager and 1 instance has an error. Code 10, device cannot start.

Drive doesn't appear in computer management.
I installed the latest mobo and device drivers for the board but no luck.

Also tried disconnecting the drive and rebooting. The error code remains.

    Any ideas?

Download and install the new drivers for your RAID controller.

If there are no new drivers for your raid controller - this is something you probably should have checked first

alternatively if u can, try connecting the pata drive directly to the mobo without using the raid card.
u might have to fiddle around in the bios as well

ive got the latest w7 drivers from gigabyte but the old pata drive still dont work.

i might just whip it out, take it around a mates place and copy the data off.
