    Work up north.

I know there was a career thread in here somewhere but I can't find it.
If anyone has connections or knows a good recruitment company that can set me on the right track with courses/licences etc that I should/need to get, please post up.
While I'm surviving financially, I do have a bit of debt that's gonna take a few years to get out of and no assets/investments to my name. This is starting to piss me off as I want to do something with my life and not work for the next 40 odd years just to rely on superannuation when I retire. So I've decided north is the way to go, more money and all your days off grouped together.
PM preferred if anyone has some advice, or just post in here.

Current experience etc is not much. I've done a few days work as a TA for my mums boyfriend (electrician) and some of his mates who have needed labour for a day or two when I was just out of high school, but I've been at the cas for the last 4 years so haven't really had too much time for anything else.

    Good luck with your search.

What are your current qualifications and/or experience?

Yeah it definately is. Which is why I'm hoping someone on here can help out. I can't afford the initial outlay to get my HR licence, so I'm hoping for something labouring or drillers offsider or something first, then once I have a foot in the door I can assess things.

Try Skilled ot Workpac for starters. Getting your foot in the door is half the battle.
We have used Mineworks work@mineworksgroup.com.au for labour hire but mostly short term contracts.

Getting your white card woudn't be a bad idea, can be done online for minimal outlay $65 and there is a demo version you can do.
    http://www.aveling.com.au/safety-cou...rse-online.htm

Use the seek site and a refined search for what your after. Loads of drilling offsider positions.

Always remember working away is a test on relationships with a partner and your friends, missing events and the fun times back in the 'city'

Working nightshift has a similar effect. I don't go out of weekends, infact having one weekend free out of every four or five and enough money to actually do something on it would be awesome.
And I'm well single, and intending on keeping it that way till I've got myself set up.
Added more info to my original post for mcmurray, though it doesn't really help much.

Hey mate, speak to DDH1 Drilling.

I know they are looking for people. You'll need HR but they do allow (IIRC) 3 months into the job to get it. Also need Senior first aid.

PM me your email address, company I work for just got a few large contracts. I will forward ROI forms. You may be able to delay getting your HR but you may be passed over for someone who already has it.

If you can get a start with this mob you're laughing.
A lot of the drillers are ex Corewell / Western Deep Hole.
Murray Pollock is one of the owners, old time driller that knows how to look after his crews.

I'm a Human Resources Advisor with a large firm just out of Marble bar (will disclose full details upon interest), All jobs that come onsite come through myself for distribution.
My background is 5 years recruitment for all blue collar trades in constuction and mining, there's not a great deal i don't know about when it comes to gettin' lads on site.

I've currenlty got some entry level positions coming through in the next month, drillers offsider - Pit tech - Servicepersons (require HR lic) all paying around about $90K+, 2x1 roster.

normal temperature up here is about 48degrees with humidity of 90%, goes upto 55degrees on a good day, if you think perth's hot then any positions i have to offer are def not for you.

I'm off today (i do an 8/6 roster) but pm me and i'll sort you out with my email address and certainly look to have a chat prolly tuesday week (1st Feb)

Workpac or Supply conections to get into Rio but I would take Gimpy up on his Pit Tech positions. Can lead some good places in development and the jobs are usually good fun

Definitely HR lic will help and Snr 1st Aid whilst a bonus doesn't usually sway them one way or another.

Need some description of what duties you did at the casino, was it only dealing or was there other stuff involved?

Yeah just dealing and inspecting. Not much else involved. (normal management shit, coaching and mentoring other staff, dealing with all sorts of problems involving tables and shit/shitfaced patrons.) I just wanna get out of working with the public.
Had a second job for a while, and then got to the point where I realised I was doing more than 12 hour days, wasn't getting more than about 6 hours between shifts, and didn't get more than one day off in a row. And not get paid nearly as much as I would if I was up north.

Crikey def some keen buggers about, like i said i won't be even reading into them until next swing (doing a 4/3 next week) as i try to keep work away from my limited time off.
(just for those that sent PM's, i'm not ignoring you - need to speak with supervisors on site directly having chatted with potentials)

Please note i will not be "emailing out details of jobs" I speak with candidates on a one on one and make my interview notes etc. After chattin is when i make my directives as to what positons we'll look at you for.

Keep 'em coming however, allways keen to have a chat.

I'm not sure but i may have lost a few PM's (maybe due to the site shutting down the other day?). I've reponded to all those that i had in my inbox, so throw them forward if you don't have any form of answer - bearing in mind i'm only taking direct apps

FFS, just got the new POA through regarding these new positions, seems most of which are being taken off of the entry level table, i'm happy to answer any questions anyone might have but as far as positions go it's more than likely going to be 1yr+ mining exp to get you through the door
