Ignoring users

Is it possible, when ignoring a user to totally ignore them?
As it is, you get a box saying "fredie is on your ignore list, do you want to view this post?", or some similar comment.
Now, if fredie wasn't on my ignore list, I would want to see his posts, wouldn't I? Ergo, the fact he is on my ignore list, means I want to ignore him, not be reminded that he has posted.
The idea of ignoring a user, to me, would be for it to appear as if they didn't exist on the forum.
Is this functionality possible?

I dont know but the dichotomy of Yours and Barfy avatars yet at the same time both possessing a very similar look of contentment is quite humerous.

After a while you go to click on the "fuck it, read it anyway - surely their braincells bred by now" button and remember how disappointing the experience was the last 10 times and say instead "you know what, just no. I can live without it".

Even resist's rash of new threads with appealing titles over the last month or so hasn't tempted me to open the garbage bag and see what's inside.

I just put myself on ignore and it came up with the message;

We can't help you ignore yourself.

It's worse on a smartphone because the ignore text is in a huge font and takes up half the screen. My complaint was met with the unsympathetic comment that my smartphone wasn't smart enough.

On Tapatalk it shows their post in the "new threads" section, but totally omits it from the thread, which is awse.

You might be surprised, the man has done a lot of growing up in the last year or 2.

I think we need an automated response like when a post gets moderated, so you get a PM when someone puts you on their ignore list. I'm just not a serious enough person to use the ignore list.

People could have accidents, and I don't reckon the cops would check if they all appear on an internet forum on the same user's ignore list, so you might be able to sort it.
