New Side panels

Is there a way to turn off the new side panels for new posts and current poll. My desktop machine is running on older CRT and the size of them means the actual window size has shrunk to where you can't see the title of longer threads.
This is not an issue for people with uber high resolution or widescreens so much because there is ample space anyway and I have no issues with my laptop.

I don't know how official it all is, but Tys said you can turn em off by going to "UserCP" -> "Edit Options" and scroll to the bottom option and turn them off... for PLATINUM users.

Yes I think I'll turn them off, getting sick off seeing polls that are long dead and useless, also a bit worried that the Kitchen polls showing up in there as well, or are they not visible to the general membership??
