New Sub-Forum idea?
Just wondered if the powers that be had considered a new sub-forum where a representative from DPI and one from WAPOL are invited to answer questions or provide details/answers on legal questions (Bike related only).
Such as DPI information on licencing,
and WAPOL advice on Road rules etc.
PSB could invite them to have a representative to answer the hairy questions, or those that get discussed over and over again.
Of course a heavily moderated section, with only Moderator approved posts etc.
The 'Guests' would only have access to the one forum (unless they joined normally)..
Thoughts?

Nah back in the day there was a subforum called Constable Jellyback, and Constable Jellyback used to post under that username. Or was it called Cahnstable Contacts? I can't remember now.

hmmm cant see it going well... will be a fair bit of cop bashing I reckon from people who would rather put in their "bit" without listening, on the other hand... its been done before?

the only possible way it could work would be a heavily moderated forum, where all threads are moderated before showing, then only certain users (wapol/dpi/staff) could reply to the thread.
basically, not a discussion forum, but merely a Q & A forum. a Qn from a member, and a corresponding answer from a dept.
the problem is getting the relevant parties to join up - it would HAVE to be from their media/PR dept, and given the possibility of something being put in "writing" their concern would be accuracy and portrayal (=liability). I doubt very highly whether WAPOL or DPI would come on board due to that.

It would be a great idea as said needs to be heavily moderated, but having some reps from police and dpi would be great to clarify rules, activity's and especially bike mods, might help generate a bit of goodwill and understanding between riders and authority's too.

Got to ask, why would they want to?
The posters with two chips on their shoulders will always chew a good response, because they may not agree, or as usual weren't there, didn't get the whole story or see the attitude given.
Moderators are then going to have to double check wether it's then spilled into the main forums?
Could not see them agreeing to participate when the group always has some loud posters that spout the same anti-police message with the typical "O, but not all of them." retraction every now and then.
When someone posts a good experience, people derail the thread... go figure.

Find me some examples please.
And desmo/scoundrel, wasn't constabulary contacts a forum to tell everyone where the cops were waiting for you on the streets?

Do what I do; if you have a question or a comment for them, flag them down or follow them until they pull over then ask your question.
I've read enough folklore to know not to invite such unpleasantness into your home.

ONe little question: who would be the lucky mod to trawl through a whole sub-forum of posts, approving each and every "+1", "me too", and "no, I disagree" post?
Sounds like a booby prize to me, maybe whoever wins the stick of doom thsi year can get the job.

Don't forget that the majority of the law seems to be open to interpretation by the police.

Valid point. I guess nobody told the police service that that are merely there to police the law not enforce it. Enforcement is the mandate of the courts, not the plods.
