Rep Spread - too high
This morning I went on a rep spreading run to try and be able to give a user more rep, only to be told i had added too much rep in the last 24 hours.
5 is fair, maybe even 10, but I think 20 is too big a rep spread.
Do people agree?

I think rep is over-rated...

How many users do you have to give rep to before you can give it to someone again?
I think that number is set too high as well
I don't think there should be a limit on how much rep you give out, whats the reasoning for restricting it?

so you dont go and give someone like 30 reps in one go i guess... i guess it helps make rep more reliable and more of something that you deserve. ps: padfoot check your rep.

10 sounds about right, especially when people don't give rep often it makes it hard when you want to rep the same people often

I understand the limit so you don't do it all at once, but surely I can give more rep to some users after giving it to at least 10 other people (I haven't really been keeping track of how many, I just try it every now and again )
Meh, I'll just accept it and move on.
And resist... Cheers!

^^^ Just checked it then...
Except because Jesus/God hates you (I can't remember which one ) its neutral.
That was one excellent rep reason mate, pure gold.
/Threadwhore
Original question still stands, how many users is it before we can give it to the same person again? Or is that secret information known only to teh uber mods?

giving compliments and being nice is one way we enhance our community spirit and make people feel loved.

Well if you're so into enhancing our community, why are you bothered with having to give it to 19 other people before you give it to the same person?
BTW, adding rep saying "im spreading rep so i can give some more to maxo, this isnt really about anything you did - resist" is just plain shit. It's more likely to make the person feel like you don't think anything of them. Next time, spread your fucking worthless reputation somewhere else.

Ah, the question is answered indirectly... So its 20 users before you can give it to someone else again?
Hornet, I was more happy about the 10 or so rep points I got from it, nearly at 100
But I see your point.
Now to catch CitD and Barfy...

Reps are very important IMO I remember the time I was in the red, worst time for me on PSB ever because everyone didn't take me seriously and thought I was a troll.

gotta love this virtual inane society we live in where a 'rep' is considered to be of value. What happened to to good old fashioned verbal communication and a pat on the back.

It's kinda like when you expect a 'good night - lay' and only get a 'good night - kiss'
