81' CB250 Project! =D
Firstly, I know nothing about bikes, engines, whatever. All I know is the key needs to be turned for me to go forward.
Anyway, picked up this beast today for $230.
It will need a lot of work. It was a donor bike- the speedo is missing as is the front caliper. There is no electrics working due to the harnesses being pulled apart. She's very rough all over. But what a canvas!
So hopefully as time progresses I can keep you all informed as to its progress. I'm thinking a cafe racer look. I know, it's been done but hey. It will be fun and I'll learn a lot.

I used to have one of these but gave it to a mate,i will ask if he wants to part with the wiring harness. If you need copies of diagrams he has a manual for it also.

That'd be great! Yeah I've been looking on the net for copies of the manual, but if you could coin the wiring harness diagram in the meantime it'd help me out heaps. Will probably order one off ebay eventually. $25 or so. Have to try and find a front brake assembly inc reservoir and probably a new instrument cluster/speedo. Will visit a wreckers on my next day off. I just want to get it all hooked up to test the engine out. Cheers!

Would it be best for me to get all the running gear etc up to standard first, make sure it's legal, register it and then start modding it ?

Definitely it would save allot of heart ache. The more stock the less they are going to look.
