Oh boy....I can smell the finish line NOW!

Oh boy....I can smell the finish line NOW!
Woo hoo.... Get it going!
BURN RUBBER, NOT YOUR SOUL

Ok..did a very detailed check of the 350 crank and counter shafts in the 250 cases and found the following, The clutch side is identical the the 250 set up and I can even use the 350 counter shaft drive gears.
The other side however is shorted on the 350. We are talking a difference overall of 5.5mm, I don't want to machine the starter drive gear collar to get the room so my plan is to remove 5.6mm from the back of the rotor as I should still have the room required for the one way bearing. I will make spacers for the pick up coil and winding's moving them in 5.5mm.
That's the plan for now till my brain suggest otherwise.
Good to see you got your motor finally, after that false start last week. I sent you an SMS with a pic of my Alt all fitted up but it didn't get to you??
Keep us all updated with your progress and remember messure twice cut once![]()

Next on the list is to degrease and clean cases, barrel and head.
Then wait and buy a crank rebuild kit, top end kit and then time to assemble.

I sold my chrome plating set up today so I decided that there should be some chrome on this bike...

Nice work Daz. Chrome looks very professional.

With the proceeds from my chrone plating setup I now have a much wanted ac/dc tig welder. Been practising my beeding on every scrap if alloy I can get my hands on.
Now to buy some 2mm sheet and go crazy on a rear guard masterpiece.
Can also start work on the custom stainless exhaust system too.
I will post pics soon.
Hey Daz I might be interested in you tig welding skills soon, I need multiple brackets welded on to my frame for the oil tank, rear guard, chain guard, oil filter mount, coils and battery and the rear muffler support brackets.
I hope your welding it pretty cause I want is real nice. Practise brother.![]()

I'm now ready to mock up an exhaust system.....using an empty engine for fitting.

Rims are done, used some reflective rim tape just to add a high light, these also match the red paint.

At long last, some progress.
Went to Carringtons, NSW and got some nice S/S bends to start the exhaust saga and air box. Great price and awesome finish.
