    Talking The BSA A65

Last year my dad got made redundant. And so to celebrate he bought himself a 1964 BSA A65.

The bike has 650cc, was a beautiful red colour, and didn't start.

So my dad poked at it for about 15 months until I got pissed off and basically threw myself in the deep end and forced him to work and moved the project forward.

We did some wiring, looked through the engine, and then on fathers day hauled it out into the sun and spent 45 minutes kicking it over.

And so I present my dads fathers day present: The BSA kicking over, idling and revving. (The 'key' my dad uses to turn it off is a screwdriver...That may require a look in...)

YouTube - The BSA, it started

There's still a lot that needs doing. But for now we're both pretty content feeling the ground rumble as we rev it.

Just thought I'd post up the good cheer

Well done Wookie, Like V4 said, it's nice to see some more old Brit iron in here, With a bit of luck, or maybe a divorce, I might get my 58 thunderbird running this year. Enjoy the journey of the restoration, the destination is not important.

Coincidentally I picked up a '67 BSA b40 off ebay a few weeks back for my old man. Started pretty easily once we got fuel to it. Just mostly cosmetic stuff left to do on it.

Update: So we fiddled around with the timing a bit, and so now I present, the bike MOBILE!

It smokes like buggery, the clutch doesn't seem to do much, and we can only get first gear. But still. IT GOES!

Some pictures and a vid for you all.
