Building the Bastard!
WHY
I purchased the bike in May 06, basically stripped it down a little added a few minor mods like head N tail lights new penile air cleaner, painted the old girl and away she went
I actually like the Buell, apart from the fact there are not many streetfighter’d Buell’s about just makes the bike different, they have heaps of grunt and enough top end to be happy with (at my age haha)
The mechanical rebuild is going to be assisted by Morry the bloody marvellous mechanic (Motorcycle Masters / Kewdale)

Excellent BW. Here's a pic of my old girl, purchased by me in California where I rode around for a while before bringing her home in '96.
Could just about do with a new donk too, so I'll be watching your rebuild with great interest.
The bikes actually came out with a WP rear shock that was replaced via a worldwide recall with the Showa unit that I never really liked either. Keen to hear if the Works Performance shock is better.

It's already a nice looking bike Billy - gotta soft spot for the V-twins - so it should kick some major tail once you're done with it.
Chain drive conversion?

So... coming home tonight with a hop skip n a jump open the workshop door and ARRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I seam to have an oil leak.....
looks like fitting the new bracket last night dislodged something......
Oh joy.. lets have a look...
Oh dear... off with the shockie, off with the zorst & headers, drain oil, remove oil filter (did ewm 8 days ago) off with the oil pump, argh little bugger, funny hows it survivied this long with NO GASKET
clean, put a little magic shite around the edges of everything, secure oil pump, secure hoses, secure shockie, secure headers n zorst, fit new oil filter
spary shite remover everywhere, flick the switch shut, bolt, lock and alarm the door
check tomorrow...... otherwise it will be an all nighter and extremely grumpy tomorrow...
shower.... pour extremely large gentlemen jack... type
move along nothing here except senile old bike builders
