Already have the barry white, the classy curtains (you forgot them), the mattress in the back. These lights + some glitter glue for my nutsack (ie disco ball) and it's all set.
Maybe "If this van's a rockin..." sticker for teh back.

My 2 x ' super happy good time fun light show 3m length mr happy 12 volt' lights should be arriving on Monday morning
If they turn out well then I will order another 2 off e-bay as well to fill up the rest of the gutter space further forward... then its time for the old wire/heat shrink/solder/fuse blowing/toggleswitch/explosion mix for installing them
now to stay up all night tonight doing the next few days worth of uni work so that I can put the carpet, seat and stereo in tomorrow

Hmmm.. thought about finding a 240V inverter and using household objects? Maybe not cheap, and definitely has the possibility of frying you and other occupants, but could be very cool to hook up the sandwich press next to the disco strobe!

My beetle had a ghetto stereo. Had a set of half reasonable computer speakers with sub (the one with the big box and the little speakers for the desktop. All screwed into the parcel shelf with the sub hanging underneath, behind the seat. Powered by an inverter. Extension cord ran up to the front where I could plug in my MP3 player - but always got a belt (guessing around 80v for some reason) off the plug when the amp was on.

My shit still hasn't arrived from ebay... not happy...grr
getting most of my uni work out the way... should have time to play on the weekend

Ok well I haven't updated this in about forever...
Currently there is now carpet in the back cut to shape, although I found its not comfortable enough for passing out on just yet, so grabbing a layer of underlay from a friend...
Speakers have been installed in the side panels in the back... wiring is all sorted and hidden...looking good..
Also those lights arrived from ebay and they are mediocre at best...but will test fit them anyway, they will still probably work well enough in the dark hopefully...
Hopefully pick up some cheap 4x4 rims for it and decide on a paint scheme by the end of exams...
I was tossing up the idea of WWII bomber theme, complete with pin-up girl nose art, panels/rivets, bullet holes, radio call-signs and 'sortie tally' of multinovas/radars/women with prams painted on the side
will try and get some pics of progress up tomorrow arvo

yeah true, the van does have the aerodynamics of a shopping centre...
its either the bomber theme or:
A sunset/beach type mural with black silhouettes in foreground on one side...the backgruond fading to a burnt orange towards the top , with a city/hills night time type painting on the other side with the background fading to a blue colour... maybe with some kind of rad stripey jagged white 'racing' line/stripe seperating the two colours down the centreline....

ahah yeah sorry, mum is in Singapore and took my good camera with her....BITCH
I'm out getting rediculously drunk at the Waterford tonight to celebrate a hockey teammates 18th and pickup hot drunken exhange students from Curtin....
This probably means that I won't get pics up til tomorrow though when I get home
in the meantime be slightly amused again by the wonderous creation that was my old van 'Magic Surf Bus" (RIP)

I'm not so convinced that the van is the right shape to be able to pull it off to be honest...
I may have to get a blank van-outline template and invite people to do some designs...

pics of current interior progress:
The carpet is in, although I'm waiting on some underlay to make it more comfortable to pass out on... also got to clean up the edges so it doesn't fray...
also have a pair of speakers installed in the rear... fronts have still got to be put in the doors...
Unfortunately uni exams are only a few weeks away so I doubt I will see much more progress for a while... I'll still be buying material though to set the rest up...
