Andy @ Plastonics, Belmont.
Took care of a crack in my upper fairing near windscreen. Don't know how he did it, but you can't tell it was ever there now.
Good price, quick service.

Thanks for the info guys, also was wondering is anyone know where I can get hold of some streetfighter headlights and mounting brackets, so I can get rid of the front fairing, also i saw someone in these pages fit a instrument cluster, it was a small digital type, looked really cool. Any ideas one where I can buy one of those?

Anything at this time, cant find anything on ebay. something to either hold the existing headlights as i have seen in some pictures such a this one. (sorry they are not the headlights from a 1997 fireblade, they must be no genuine)
and also the cluster mounting look cool

Havent wired it up, but the instructions that go with it and the support they give you is great.
Cost was around $120 + del for the computer, i also got a little dashboard for it, which is just an outer casing that includes 4 customisable idiot lights (im using one for indicators, neutral, oil, and highbeams) which costs around the 30 + del mark.
Hardest part will be finding a good point to mount it to, the wiring looks like something i can probably tackle myself and I'm a noob when it comes to wiring things.

I have had good success with Q-Bond, it is a 2 part process, a powder and a super glue. Basically you just sprinke the powder over the area you want to repair and then dribble the superglue over that, sets is seconds and is as strong as, I mean REALLY STRONG. I have got really good results fixing up plastic side covers, (as I have about 1000 here and it is very quick.
On the painting, my son does mine as that's his trade but we are in bris.

I just used some pretty smick brackets on my RD rebuild, $69.90.
The shop ordered them in for me but I can set up up with some if you want, just need to know the fork OSD. Thess ones extend approx 100mm from front of fork to mount hole.

already ordered some headlights and brackets, but thanks anyways.
have a hepa of stuff comming and the bike is in bits at the moment.
i will start to post pictures soon.
Now to my next challenge, since im binning all the fairing except the rear tail, what do i do about the big ugly front mudguard, it looked ok with all the farings on but now it just looks heavy and out of place.
Is there somewhere you can source mudguard for this sort of thing, or do i need to get the hacksaw out and modify the one i have?

I have used brackets identical to those on my bike.
Theyre good quality, simple units.
Highly recommended.

Mudguards
Thanks for all the help guys, My project is well underway, most parts on order, some already here.
Bike is pretty much stripped (as far as im going)
Have changed the title to reflect whats going on,
I need help with anouther part, the front mudguards, now I have no front faring, they look huge and ugly, I have noticed on some street fighters they have small thin fenders on them, this is what I want.
No amount if searching in ebay and WWW brings up any helpfull advice.
Anyone know where these may be purchased, As a last resort im going to get the Die-grinders out and hack my originals.

before you hack the old ones, can you get generic plastics on ebay ?
You might be surprised at what a set of original plastics is worth for a 900rr... and infact, could be worth more than what your bike is worth.. ( I'm not shitting you.. )
that front headlight cowl, alone - is worth over $600.. unstickered, unpainted...

I have a number of old metal guards at netbikes.com.au
Just type in Guard in the search box. There is one there from a XV750 that may suit, it has surface rust so you would need to rechrome or bead blast and paint. Of course you would also need to mod the mounts,,,, but it's cheap.
