Depending on how pedantic you want to be ...... you could consider getting some ali blanks milled up to fill in where the pegs used to be and then have them powder coated black. Have a recess milled into the top so the bolts sit flush with the top of the billet blank offs.
I like the red chain set up too.
Id drop the front sprocket cover tho. It looks out of place now.
Can you run just an open front ??
|
Blanks would be a good idea, i've seen people fill them in and get them coated, but i like the idea of being able to get a girlie on the back if i need.
The front can be left open, just means more cleaning. Dunno if i want to do that if i decide to pimp up the hoses.

Well at the moment it's going to become my everyday rider. It will get used, but being able to enjoy jumping on a nice ride everyday is .
Down the track it may become a track bike and I get another bike for everyday use, Time will tell.

Get a second subframe then.
Once you have something to cut up and mod you can make a number of simple chnages that just clean up the look of the bike immensely without massive effort.
Happy to explain a few ideas if you can be arsed listening one arvo.

Nope.... I think along the same line as sams with only having two colours. Instead of red black I think Black Silver....

^with purple rim stripes, It is a girls bike, i think that could look ok.
You can do more than two colours just make sure their complimentary or contrast in a complimentary way and spaced selectively/tastefully over the bike.

Air filter
Well today I was doing a standard oil and oil filter change.
So while I was at it I thought I might as well fit the Airfilter I've had sitting around for quite some time.
So here we are with side and lower fairings removed so I can change the oil and oil filter.
So from there i decided to start on getting to the airbox.
This involves removing the seat and tank fairing.
Then you get to the tank
You then can undo 2 main bolts and swing the tank back and tie it up.
Once the tank is up, you need to unplug the top injectors from the wiring harness, unscrew the cover and this will expose the airfilter. Sorry got lazy with photos.
Undo 2 screws which hold the airfilter and it then clips out.
Under side of airfilter
Aftermarket BMC airfilter
Just fit the filter, do up 2 screws.
Fit the cover back on, clip injectors back in and tank goes back down.
Theres not much to this mod, just needed to do this before I organise some dyno time.

Repairs
I've gotten over the sulking now, so i've decided to continue the storyboard.
So since the highside incident, i've only really just got the bike back home (Thanks Stephan ).
Damage is not as bad as i was imagining, although taking photos with 1 hand is a challenge.
All Damage was on the right side.
Front cowl and headlight
Upper fairing, well an truely rooted.
Rear cowl
Bar end & lever
Throttle linkages
Now, the oggy knob which probably saved some damage also snapped
Which in turn then punctured through my crank case
So that's really all the damage the bike sustained from the highside.
I'm pretty happy since i was expecting much worse.
Had a look at my tyres to see give me some idea of where i was at.
Right side rear
Left side rear
Left side Front
I don't know what else i can learn from the look of the tyres, besides that maybe i should straighten up a bit before i wick up the throttle next time.

Uh Oh. Open Crankcase.
Ya know thats going to need a full engine rebuild dont you Sam?
Otherwise its not nearly as bad as I thought it might've been. Did the RG oggies run a brace between them across the back of the radiator?
Edit, found brand in the pics.
Those pics of the tyres ... Can't wait till i get marty mooses intereptation on them but that champfering on the tread edge is a sign that something aint right in the suspension.
