Hey Sam, Good to see you back up and about.
As well as your busted wrist after looking at your bar end, brake lever and throttle linkage I am betting your gloves are pretty shagged.
Is there any chance you could post up a photo of your gloves and any other damaged gear.

I am over the moon with how well my gear worked.
This is the left hand glove which i've got 3 broken metacarpel and waiting for the titanium to go in. A* GP-Pro gloves
Left glove knuckle side
Left glove palm side
Gauntlet end of left glove
Right glove, from which i have no injuries.
My jacket, A* SMX jacket, great in summer or when ur really working it on the track, but freezing cold in sub 20 degree weather, even with the liner.
Bit of a slide on the front left chest area, this jacket has foam armour in this section
Both forearms had a biit of a slide, also full CE lvl 2 armour under both forearm sections
Shoulder copped a bit of a knock too, again full hard shell armour with CE armour under.
Back of the Jacket. No damage to the back except for the smallest graze at the very bottom. The hump, this probably saved me from serious neck/spinal damage since it prevents my head/helmet from moving back.
Both pants and boots have grazes down the sides, but minor damage.

[quote=Dingo;1041959]Uh Oh. Open Crankcase.
Ya know thats going to need a full engine rebuild dont you Sam?
Well that depends if the engine was still running and if it has ingested debris, metal, etc.
If the donk was off it might not.
especialy if it stayed on it's damaged site.
Crank case cover needs to come off and an investigation of what the situation is in there.
Also have a good look at the oil and oilfilter, (cut it up to see what it has filtered out)

Seeing as you've crashed her twice now have you thought about getting a set of bodywork from China? My OEM plastic is stored in as new condition in the garage. My 2007 600RR now looks like this with it's second set of Motogp replica fairings:
I've already wrecked the first set (LCR Honda) after putting it down in the left hander at Barbagallo. I just bought a complete new set for about $900 delivered.

It'll be some time before i get to do any wrenching since i'm going to be 1 handed for quite a while, but i'll pull the casing off and see where the bits have gone and go from there. I would have thought the tilt sensor would have cut the engine b4 the oggy snapped and punctured the casing.
Aftermarket fairings may be an option down the track, but i do like the red n black look for now.

Hope your hand gets better soon. You're welcome to send me a PM if you want to have a look at the quality and fit of these cheap fairings.

Let me know if you need a hand getting it back in shape Sam. I've only got the racebike in the garage at the moment so there is heaps of room and I know that bike inside and out. I may even hve some spares if you need them. Just about anything that would come off a stock bike but bodywork and exhaust.
Plenty of experiance fixing crashed bikes!

Yeah, i'm pretty happy considering the damage i was expecting. I think it's pretty good.

Thanks mate,
Really appreciate all of the offers of help so far, it's just blows my mind how much fellow riders are willing to help each other out. It's what makes this whole community such an awesome place to be.
Cheers
Sam

something odd about the tyres to me.. LHS tells the story, the front tyre is running to the edge long before the rear.
imho something weird going on with your geometry.

The photo of the front left u can see that i'm just starting to scrub the arrow and michellin mans head.
The rear left, is actually worn to the edge. you can just faintly see the remains of a michellin man.
However i would have thought the left and right hand side of the tyre should have balled up similar amounts?

When I have scrubbed to the edge of the rear I typically have at least a half inch if not more left to go on the front. Its not just an r1 thing my zx6r and even my bunky rz250 are the same. I mix and match tyres fairly randomly as well.

What ru running? 180 x 60 + 120 x 70? Unless the profile is same front to back, at the edge shouldn't the rear find the edge before the front?

It's a case of suspension and/or body position. Do you have any pics of you on the track?

also, i wonder if you have got too much pressure in those tyres- there is not enough melting, they dont look like they were nearly hot enough to be sticking.

Thanks for the input, I'll get the geometry checked.
I did think the left rear should have looked similar to the right (balling up nicely), if anything it should have been balling up even more since we were going anticlockwise.
As for tyre pressure, i try to run 36psi cold.
Unfortunately I don't have any pics of me on the bike at AHG.
I've been trying to piece it all together and i do believe that a few factors contributed to the highside. I do think that i was shifting my body weight as it happened, since i had just picked my knee up and started to shift back onto the seat while exiting and getting on the gas. Also I backed off the throttle when it stepped out which caused it to hook back up and hence highside.

i suspected as much
forget about cold pressures.. thats street legal shit- when you arent riding hard enough to get the tyres hot and sticky.
start targeting the difference between hot and cold. the difference is your indicator of tyre temperature. the amount the air expands is directly proportional to the temperature of the air- which is a function of the temperature of the rubber.
i target ~5-6 psi difference between hot and cold. i then inspect the wear patterns for funky tearing indicating too hot or poor damping settings.
edit: 36 cold, +5 psi = 41psi hot.. i doubt you would actually achieve that you would be sliding around too much or even going down. when i run pilot powers on the rear i usually get a 5psi difference at around 36-37psi hot.
