Ex wapol xj750 bobber cruiser project

bought this xj750 ex cop bike from a bloke in rocky it was lic and running nicely and under a grand so i snapped it up i like shaft drive many dont i know.
Stripped all the crap off it like windscreen panniers rear box holder the dicky indicators and all badge and numbering. Till it was a bare bike took it out and found it to be a nicer ride, that giant shield was attached to the bars and wasnt a nice feel at all but with it gone much better but taking the panniers had taken its hardtail away so ride wasnt as smooth but thats easy fixed.

    Red face First set up

so bought a pair of 6inch drag risers from the states fitted them with flyscreen to hide the pug fugly plastic square 80s gauges didnt want to take them off as they have handy stuff like fuel gauge and heydipshit im broken warning lights that i sorely need and put on a seat i got from ebay.
Love the screen and bars but the seat was a disaster didnt fit the bike at all which is a shame cos its a big comfy seat. Also bought horns and indicators in billet grill style from hk not cheap but lookin good will get pics of these parts up soon.
Theses are my first build threads so bear with me whislt i get a grip on the photo uploading from the phone the bike actually turns out nice

    Front with new parts

so got the new chrome on and after cutting 2 inches out of the fairing got it into place it stilll sat pretty well jjust had to drill holes in the side for the bolts hopefully down the tracj the indicators will mount thru these holes so i dont have boltheads showing i like this front end but need new mirrors and to get the light and fairing height flush with the bar tops

The Police bikes had a seat that was different to all the public models, which is the main reason I did my rebuild on the more common Seca model. Nice to see it coming along.

Whilst waiting for the new harley badlander seat for 1200 sportster i purchased at stupid cost from ebay i decided to do some painting so pulled off the guards and tank bare metalled them did a bit of body fill on some tank dings and after some acid etch did a few coats of matt black, i figured better a neat job in matt than the woeful home effort you get from spraycans and i like the matt on bobbers anyway. Also bought an led combo tail stop and blinker set from ebay it looks pretty cool and fitted up no problems i dont think its legal tho so im putting the outer blinkers back on as well to keep the 30cm appart legality

    Rear set up

the new seat fits alot better and looks alot neater theres a slight gap between the plastics and seat edge but its not bothering me and im not sure im keeping the plastics anyway. Its a comfy seat altho havent gone further than pinjarra so its comfy for an hour or so at least

    Lights

the lights have the nice mini effect i wanted but just arenr wide or bright enough to be legal bike is back in one piece and waiting for some polish and more paint but is starting to look like the bike i want i like the seat and bar set up you can cruise sitting right back or hunker up to the bars and lean in a bit more if your feeling brave.
