    1983 Gpz 750 Restoration.

Anybody that did the M.A.D ride would have seen me on the 250KLR...Its Been sold. Too small, Kick start, I'm getting to old for that. Tonight I got my hands on this. I don't plan on doing anything crazy to it. I was thinking street fighter, but the more I look at it the more I think, restoration.
    Time to dream.

    List of things to do
    Head stem Bearings
    Fork seals
    F/R wheel Bearings
    New clutch
new rear shock (Upgraded to later model)
    F/R Brake Disks and pads
    New indicators (LED)
    Rear tyre
    Swing arm bearings
    New Chain
    Carby's Cleaned and tuned
    new spark plugs
    oil and filter
    Paint and Graffic's

    Some more pic's. >>>

Been doing a bit of cosmetic work while I wait for some parts. Decided not to change it but mod it just a bit.
First thing to go was the elephant hanging on to the rear.

I have mock mounted the tail light into the rear of the seat till I can get a welder to make some mounts for it.
A smaller pair of LED indicators will be mounted to the sides of the rear sear faring.

Will be removing all the tags hang under the tail to keep the lines nice and clean.

An aluminium tail, painted black with plate holder, light and a reflector hanging of the bottom should keep the popo off my back.

Took the carbys out tonight. Sitting for 4 years wasn't pretty, all gummed up. Two slides were working two were stuck. Three main jets were cloged, two floats were flooding. Cleaned it all out, reset the air mixture screws. Carbys back in, fresh fuel in the tank, a bit of choke and....she fires!
I heard it run for the first time and she sound strong. A bit more fiddling and she will run sweet.

Cleaned, sanded and painted the grab rails on each side in flat black.
Sanded down the red tail but am waiting for the paint on Tuesday.

Took out the rear shock, as I expected it is pretty well fucked. On the hunt for an upgrade.
Slightly longer, help with the stance.

Nice to see another older bike heading back onto the road

One suggestion to add to your list is checking the valve clearances, often neglected on older bikes, and a simple preventative maintenance item.

Will be good watch your progress unforld.
Intelligence and education are three sides of the same coin.

After spending all weekend trying to get the bike to idol, ckecking and re-checking and re-checking
float levels, air mixture screws and jets, did I mention I
re-checked it? I have noticed some time over the weekend the pin I was using to unblock the jets,
has broken off inside. Now its fucked and un-useable.
If anybody has an old set of carbs and wouldn't mind donating a jet to a good cause,
    would be much appriciated.

    Will post pic soon.

I've got a number of jets.
    Plenty of mains, some pilots.
    What do you need?
I'm back in town late this coming Friday.
