I made it, and the struts although I'm about to replace those with a nasty looking sissy bar that we'll make out of round stock.

+1.

Even the flat track bars with the 6" risers give a more integrated look IMO.

I do like the bike, seen it out and about a few times now, real nice work!

You could always trim your stock fender down to the shape you want.

Have a look at this forum, heaps of guys doing similar things

It's funny I've shown these pics on a few forums and all up the opinions are pretty much divided equally between all 3 options (how I had it, lowering them, with the apes).

I actually as a last bit of fun flipped the flat tracker bars upside down and put them on with the little 2" risers, which gave it a real board tracker feel with the grips down low like clip ons.

Looked pretty good and felt surprisingly cool but I bet my back would give out pretty quick while riding like that. I'll put up pictures of that experiment tomorrow.

You cant be surprised that the members who prefer sportsbikes like the lower bars more than the ape hangers.

That pic does looks sweet, but if you go massively high it will be a real head turner dooo eeeet

that does look cool skitz. but if you were to do that you would want a bit more pull back to sit upright a bit more. but i do like it! still, go the apes!

I just spoke to the local chop shop who I'm hoping to get my new handlebars made through, but so far no luck. They don't have the equipment to put the kind of bends I want in the tubing and so far haven't found anyone else willing or able to try it either. I'll give them another week and then start looking elsewhere. GRRRRR!! I wanted these on by now...

Well still no clutch cable but it's currently getting made, so I've finally mounted the new risers, put the new bars on and locked the controls in place.

So I wheeled the thing outside to see how it all looks in the sun and I'm pretty happy!

Oh and he's what it looks like with the bars on, I prefer this way more over the setup I just pulled off, this looks way more Bobber/Chopper to me.
