Honda CB350 Four Semi Cafe Build

    Hi All,

Even though this project has now turned into a bit of a marathon and the end doesn't look near, I thought someone might be interested in what I have done.

All work done has been on a fairly limited budget... and delay is due to the arrival of my first child... really puts a dent in the time allowed to hide in the garage.

Started off with a basket case Honda CB350 Four...

    !Bzpp6L!Bmk~$(KGrHqUOKjkE)O8-1CC+BMW-Rr2Bzw~~_12.jpg

Sat in the Shed for a while while I moved to Melbourne from Sydney and then until I actually got a garage.

Frame sprayed and engine cleaned / polished and painted.

Top of engine pulled down, cleaned (looked like it had been running very rich for a long time), new rings, valves reseated, and put back together.

Few parts turned up.... and a few more parts sprayed...

Headlight, light mounts, grips, rear suspension, indicators, indicator mounts, K&N filters, kits for the carbs & brakes.
Made a new holder/mount for the speedo... still need to make a new braket to mounts some LED idiot lights.

Painted the Tank and rear guard (as the chome was pretty bad).... note for next time.... just sand back the paint on the tank by hand... otherwise you knock out all the bog that the previous owner used to fill in all the dents and have to redo.
Will get all this professionally done some time later... don't have the funds now the kid is sucking up my toy money.
Turned out looking rather nice through (don't really like the colour).... base bottle green with clear coat over the top.

    Tank 1.JPG

New tires and loading the bike up it kind of starting to look alright.

Realised that for a comfortable bar position they will hit the tank.... therefore made a bar stopped... tapped a couple of threads into the front of the frame and bolted on.

Picked up a Ballastic Battery.... only place apparently you can get them in Aus is from Freeride Powersports. Fantastic little lithium battery that will hide up under your seat while still being able to turn over the electric start.

Seat arrived..... going with a slimline flat double seat as you can see in the pics.... bought from Hondaclassic31 on ebay.... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS GUY..... SEAT AND FOAM IS CRAP. Does not even fit the bike.

Will have to get new foam made and fix the cover.

All left to do really is wire the bugger up.... fix up the cabling, fix the exhaust... previous owner cut off were the four merge into one... and get the thing registered.

When I get a little more money (from the accounts manage) will be forking out for a set of custom rear sets from the US.

Will post more pics as I finish off bits.... hopefully in the next couple of months.

bike 3 006.JPGbike 3 009.JPGcb350four so far.JPGlatest bike pics 015.JPGlatest bike pics 015.JPGthanks for that info , the engine looks great ,i also got a dud seat from the same place , but mine is a single seat and its as hard as rock ,luckily i have a new standard seat which i can modify , i recomend ttr400 ,for excellent billet parts , i might be taking a mould from my new seat base soon and making up some fibreglass and carbon fibre bases if there is enough interest ,as well as side covers ,so keep us posted on the build ,and when i learn how to post pics i will put some up , i also have some brand new gauge faces i may consider selling ,they are a direct replacement ,not overlays .

    Hey Antmanpat.... loving those headers.
The issue I have with my headers is that the previous owner cut the pipe just after the join 4 to 1... so I need to get the end extended.
Will then just wrap the pipes..
You have gone all out with the billet parts.... I think you have TTR400 guy is the same one I have looked at for the rearsets.
I think the rearsets were 400 he quoted which is very reasonable as they are just bolt on.

thats a good price for the rearsets... i still have much more billet stuff to go on, including tappet caps and front wheel spacer, the exhaust came from the uk ,and was a bargain just need to get a baffle for it as i have cut the end can down as it was HUGE, i think i have gone a bit overboard with new stuff ,ie the frame, swingarm ,well nearly the whole bike , if you need any advice on where to get new parts let me know as i have found some really good suppliers in the course of my build , keep up the good work mate .

this looks sweet! A mate has offered me his rebuilt one, seeing this makes it very tempting, plus it comes with the parts to build another one...
