Max and The 6

Finally getting around to doing up my bikes and will be doing a fair bit over the next half of the year to both.

First up we have Max
93 3XV TZR250 RS

Max is becoming a designated track bike with plans to enter F2 next year and develop my riding.

Mods will be simple, I'm not looking for power but corner technique and speed. In the next couple of weeks the TZR is getting stripped down and given a thorough clean/inspection. I'll photo document everything as it progresses.

To come:
38mm carbies
New fork springs & oil
Chain & sprockets
Braided lines and HH pads
TZ race fairings
Wire open the powervalves
Convert to pre-mix fuel

Then we have The 6, since I've never given it a name I just call it The 6.

08 YZF R6X

My plan for this bike is to take as much weight out as I can and give it a decent jump in power, with every part of the bike to be upgraded. At the moment the bike is stock but the modding is about to begin. I've also been thinking about changing the colour scheme with custom paint, I'm toying with the idea of using one of the Yamaha race paint schemes, eg.

To come:
Graves full system
Ohlins
Brembos
Forged wheels, either PVM or Marchesini's
Gilles rearsets
PCIII
Ignition module
Woodcraft engine cases & clip-ons
Hyperpro steering damper
Assorted bling bits eg chain, screen, bolts etc
Also looking at a mild port & polish and pistons

Max:
Picking up fairings tomorrow, 2000 TZ250 fairings
New rubber going on
Carbies shipped
Few ancillaries shipped

Will start to strip him down and post up pics hopefully this weekend (Dad is flying in from overseas so maybe not).

The6:
PC3 fitted
Gilles rearsets fitted
Spiegler braided lines fitted
along with previously fitted CNR shorty levers

Started pulling the TZR apart to check the fit of the fairings.

The race glas won't fit over the stock rear sub-frame so a new one will have to be made up.

A new front brace between the two lower bolt holes, will also have to be made up as the TZ fairings use a single central bolt to mount.

The side stand has to be removed to allow the fit of the race galss which also involves disconnecting the stand kill-switch.

The popo aren't going to pull your engine apart on the side of the road though so it's all good.

Anything that crazy will have to wait to next year though as I'm a poor uni hobo again.

Nice stroker - 38mm carbies!

My TZ350 has 34mm Mikuni's.

Was just going to use the carbies off the newer TZ250's for ease of use but I'm having problems tracking them down. I'll use anything in the 34-38mm range I can get my hands on though.

that was the single sexiest two stroke on the road. im dissapointed to see it being retired to the track.

Not retired, it's only having a short stint till I can save up for a TZ250.
