Just pulled in a 1986 fj1200 . On 16s . The last one before the genesis .

My first thought was . Fast rod cam s . Downdrauhgt inlets and GSXR flatslides .
Of coarse this means I would have to cut the bottom of the tank off to fit an air box . Room for ram air in there as well .

Anybody got one ? I hear you can ride them like crossers when set up well .

The FJ1200 enine hasnt changed since 1986 so I dont know what you mean by genesis.

The genesis was the sports replacement , with the 5 valve heads , FZ YZFR FZR YZF ect ect .

This is the old buckethead design . I had a blue printed FZ 600 over here in the UK dyno'd at 95hp . Only thing was the standard valve guides . She smoked a lot .

The FJ1200 doesnt have a 5 valve head in any year. If you look at the xjr1300 it's very similar to the fj12 engine except bigger cubes.

I know the heads a 16v . Thats why im tuning it . Yamaha has only just changed back to 16v after realising 5 valves were a waste of time . Guess my english aint to good .

Its the styling ? If I rip off the fairing and use a pair of cibie's , surely this thing is going to hit 200 ?

300? Not bad. Ive been looking for one to rebuild but i dont quite have the space or time for another project at the moment!

I think these were the same bikes they had on battlestar gallactica . Im selling the brand new NETA system it came with and fitting a matchbox ally frame .
