    My 95 VFR750 Fighter project

well i have been on here with my current ride 2007 Hyosung gt 650 naked , $5000 but now i got a new fighter project , if anyone knows the previous owner it would be good to find out some details of the bike the next post i have just cut and pasted from ASF just to get yas up to date to where i am at the moment

i picked her up today at the auctions , shes a 1995 vfr750 unknown k's as no dash , forks and wheels straight , no dents in the tank , its got brand new tyres with nipples still attached , all plastics are farked but who wants them , oil coolers bent but its a gay one anyway , and for $800 bucks i couldnt complain , now to sell the hyo to fund this build got plans in my head just got to get cracking

well i picked her up from toms last night and after 20 mins of farking around with the worlds dumbest tiedowns i got it home , now shes on the table this morning had a bit of a look at her and really its just comsetic only the oil cooler has a twist and the radiator , the worst bit is the wiring that has been torn up and the plugs ripped of i really need to hunt up a wiring diagram , so once it cools down a bit later ill get into dismantling the plastics

the one and only time a centre stand is cool

well today i got her clothes off and had a bit of a gander at her , all is good , the radiator is good oil cooler is fingered wiring is a mess and there is no ignition switch as its been smashed off and is nowhere to be seen , but it will be sorted in time

    [br]

    [br]

    [br]

the fittings for the oilcooler that mount to the engine supply and return does anyone know if there a standard like fitting what there called im guessing its just a o-ring seal behind the flange , that way i can refit with a threaded fitting and make some hoses up for a different remote cooler

wells shes at her knickers now , just to tidy up all the bits hanging off and start the transformation

    [br]

next thing is hunt up a front end nothing wrong with the one on it but i want USD forks and i think im gonna go clip ons , so ill sell the front end complete and the only other parts worth selling are the original seat and subframe , out back im thinking something pointy (stabby as tom and i described it) i really like the R6 tail but its been done , k7 gixxer tail done to so i was thinking 06 z1000 prob has been done too other than that tom offer to make me a one off

did some research seems that CBR 929 and 954 are a bolt in front end with only mods to steering stops so thats what im looking for

not a great deal has been going on lately , took the old busted plastic down to morrys work place motor cycle masters ti see if he was interested in any of it before i put it in the bin and he swapped me the plastics for a rear set for the vfr and a starter solenoid for the hyo those blokes are legends , forks removed ready for the cbr front end that i will hopefully pick up on fri from masters , get the tyres peeled off the rims so i can get rid of them read for mitchy pilots , still keen for a car rim but i really dont want offset so it limits me to 6 or 6.5 rim width and there impossible to find , once the fronts in its loom chop , dash then the tail section

well i needed the barstool back and the front end has been siting there for to long ready to got in i think it was a bit of dirt fever as i have found myself getting lost in the bush on the CRM in my spare time , from never owning a honda i now have two im not sure if this socially accepted but i own a hyosung so it can only get better

    [br]

    [br]

so i put the front end in and luckly someone has previously put taper roller bearings in the vfr getting rid of the ball race and they fitted the CBR stem like a bum in a bucket , the whole front end slid right in as i was told as easy as the only thing that need some attention is the steering stops as the forks at full lock touch the radiator but i drill and tap the original stops and put a long grub screw in them and adjust the depth till is right , easy fix

shes starting to look the goods now , i got some wicked clip on fork mounts and just had to make some bars , i like the look of the clipons with the big tank of the viffer looks a bit cafeish so im thinking a TL1000S tail section with the single seat cowl will give it a modern cafe look with its big hump , what do yas think ???

    [br]

plenty of meat to drill and tap

Look forward to following your project.
Make friends with your local hosemaster franchise, and talk to then about hose options.
You may want to just loop the hoses and bypass the cooler while you are testing/modifying, at least you can still run it then.

    Loving it
The bulkier 954 USD forks and monster rotors suit the size of the tank-frame-engine, and I reckon the TLS tail could look cool (although I've always loved the 636/Z tails).

    headlight looks wicked mate...

I believe the biggest challenge with fightering VFR's has traditionally been that they have a lot of messy crap which is usually hidden behind the fairings; hopefully you'll be able to make it look somewhat tidy - best of luck!
