    Naked BlackBird

Okay here is something ugly another great creation from Mr Nugget.
Buy a wrecked Bird for $1500, then proceed to write-off your good Bird under a garbage truck (doh could have saved on buying the wreck). I got from Ausfr a comforter kit with street bars, set of bar mirrors and twin headlight kit. Because it's a 1996 model the oil cooler is mounted infront of the forks, so I removed it and joined the pipes together behind the radiator to ensure the oil still circulates. Chucked a RAD guard on the radiator. Made up some covers from the damaged fairing to cover the airbox intakes as it doesn't need to be force fed. Changed the sprockets and did the carbie and fited K-Tec fork springs and an Ohlins shock. Cut the front mudguard down and made a mounting bracket fo rthe guages so they sat lower inline with the mirrors. Chucked a set of indicators mounted to the headlights. It has made the front end heaps lighter and for under $5000 it is a hoot to ride given the power the CBR1100 makes.

Graft a modern rear seat onto it (something stumpy like a speed triple), knock up some sort of belly pan and some sort of headlight fairing and you'll have a kick ass streetfighter
Gutsy question. You're a shark. Sharks are winners, and they don't look back because they have no necks. Necks are for sheep.

Good start, but you got to lose the gauge cluster mate, it lets the team down

Looking good. I'll be interested to see it coming over the hill at Barbagello.

    Got a spare engine then?

What about a Firebird project (Bird engine in a blade chassis)?

    That's a step backward if you're talking about a 1000 Blade.

Now dropping the Bird donk into a Hornet would be a step up in the right direction.
Then you could say you ride a HorneeBird

    Mmm Firebird

Bird engine in a Fireblade, great idea, my brother has a Fireblade, I'll wait until he goes on a long holiday, it's amazing what you can do in a weekend with a grinder and hammer.

You've been saving that one up?
The 900 hornet is not real flash with the motor and suspension that it has now the last thing it needs is more power IMO unless you want to turn the frame into a pretzel.
