Just to thro another idea out there as money doesn't seem to be an issue. At the moment your trying to get more horses into a 250r - which will have some side effects - ie gearbox, drive train, cooling, chasis strain etc... So why dont you think about buying a 600cc bike, pull out the engine, replace with a 4 cyclinder 250 (or any 250) that you turbo? then your getting slightly less HP than stock on a bike that can handle it and the 600 looks to go with it - plus a lighter 600 (if thats the case) would be a good thing i am sure. Also you get to spend more time on your 250r getting some rider experience....

mate, go for it! there was a bloke over east who turbo'd a FZR250RR, and got 84hp at the rear out of it, and the graph climbed from 30-ish hp in the mid range through to 84 at redline, with the power still climbing at the saem rate at the limiter! didn't need to strengthen anything, all standard wheels, swingarm, forks, etc...... this wil be something fun the check out, that's for sure......

510k's I pulled the exhaust off and put a stainless front to back exhaust.
I polished the entire exhaust up on the burnisher mmmm shinnnnnney.
Then today I fitted a dynojet jetkit to it. Kit number 2983 or something. Fairly straight forward to fit it takes about 3 hours for someone who knows their way around an engine.

To anyone doing this mod though....get the longer more silent exhaust its f'n loud. Stupid loud actually. Im going to make a silencer for it over the weekend before the boys in blue give me a work order.

I will give it a rough road dyno tune with my hand held tuner (innovate tuner)

Next mod will be to open up the intake manifold and looking at the turbo that comes off the Charade 900cc turbo. Rough figures show I would be spooling and boosting by 9k RPM through to 13-14k.....not sure if i want to do it yet could be a bit wild with a skinny tyre snapping lose at that RPM.

There is plenty of room for an oil cooler , intercooler and turbo at the front.....oo and cant forget a little tiny waste gate and BOV.
Hey man... I just got myself a 250r.. stock as shit at the moment. Just wondering how much you'll charge for installs... Im thinking of ordering a yoshimura or area p full system plus jet kit. Cheers.

Modding Ninja 250 R Handle bars. Warning serious power gains can be had.

So I got hit by a car who wanted to over take another car whilst approching a corner I was about to go around. I did a blind spot check and seen him coming so managed to avoid the worst of it. I managed to land on one foot and one knee.....the bike dumped on the handle bars.....didnt even stop to see if I was okay.

--Anywho.....how to mod your handle bars cause they are on the pi*^

NB: Im not a machinist. Im a retired network engineer. If I dont have the process right feel free to correct me. (not that ill change my ways) But it does work as im riding my bike again.

Step 1. Get hit by a black 4wd. You may want a friend to spot you for this.

Step 2. Ride you bike in windy conditions and dont lean on them with your wrists cause you will keep riding off to one side.

Step 3. Pull off your old bent up mild steel ERW handle bars (cheap SHI&). This is a press fit item into a cast aluminium mount which bolts on with 2 socket head cap screws.

Step 4. Find a big lump of 7075-t6 ali that is going to take you 5 hours to lathe down as its way over sized. You could use 6061-t5 or t6 but its not a strong as 7075. However it does have better corrosion properties.

Step 5. Use a boring bar in a mill, jig up your old cast ali steering mount and bore out to 22.35mm to fit in your new ali handle bar.

Step 6. using a slotting drill cut a recess for the socket head cap screw to sit flat and the spring washer to sit.

Step 7. Drink a beer. Also useful for cooling material down in a lathe.

Step 8. Cut down your handle bar to length once you insert and measure them into your cast ali mount.

Step 8. lathe a wider section at the end of the handle bar. Spin the stock slower to get a nice finish. Will aid when you have to put it in a burnisher to polish it up for further wank value.

Step 9. bore a 6.5mm hole with the lathe into the ali stock.

Step 10. put a metric 8x1.25 tap into it....3 turns in one turn out...6 turns in all the way out repeat until desired depth. Use some cutting spraya nd you wont break your tap.

Step 11. put your ali block mount back on and cut in the lathe a true align hole back into the stock and upto the bar stock. Prolly better of to do this at step 9 so you dont foul your thread you just tapped.....but I wasnt thinking well at 2am. That and some clown called me about a fault with a cisco router issue and I needed another beer for moral support that 2am was a good time of the morning to be doing this.

Step 12 bore a side hole into the bar stock for your bar grip mount to locate to. This will prevent it from free spinning. You can see the 5mm hole in the pictures below.

Step12..admire the engine you blew up in your car by running stupid boost then think how you are going to blow the engine up in your bike. (thread to come....the turbo has turned up...heheheh)

Step 13...unlucky last....bolt it all back on.

Total time about 4 hours..includes stopages for fixing routers and drinking 3 beers. Warning....drinking whilst operating machinery is not a good idea. Only do it if you think you can get away with it.

Now for the facts.....my bike now makes an extra 80hp from billet machined right hand handle bar. Im expecting 100Hp with 2 handle bars.

    really sorry...last lot promise.

ooo yea....stick the handle bar on a burnisher until shiney....will aid in wind slipage. This will reduce the wind drag co-effecient which will in effect take 5 seconds of your 1/4 mile times. You should be able to beat a 1098S down the 1/4 now.....

Warning results are based on fictional facts.

I think I'm developing a man crush on you evo4wrx....

Awesome stuff. I think it's fan-fucking-tastic to see a bloke so new to bikes with not only such high aspirations but the ability to do this. I can't wait for the rest of the thread, to see how you go turbo-ing, etc, etc.

Swingarm conversion would look sex BTW...

Swing arm mod is very tempting.
But I want a sick looking one sided swing arm. Sorta like whats on the 1098s.

I been tempted to look at making one a few times but the man hours in sheet forming would be huge.

On another note I fabbed up a carbon fiber front tyre guard with the vacuum infusion system late today. As the OEM got scratched when I got hit. So it made for a good mould. Should be cured tonight and I can pull it out of the oven in the morning.

Will post up pics and a CF howto for anyone who wants to know how to vacuum infusion.

The language is indonesian (with plenty of slang) but can't seem to see any mention of the type of swingarm.
