Ninja (250) R mods....
Couldnt resist.....it made it to 430k's and I pulled the fender off.
510k's I pulled the exhaust off and put a stainless front to back exhaust.
I polished the entire exhaust up on the burnisher mmmm shinnnnnney.
Then today I fitted a dynojet jetkit to it. Kit number 2983 or something. Fairly straight forward to fit it takes about 3 hours for someone who knows their way around an engine.
To anyone doing this mod though....get the longer more silent exhaust its f'n loud. Stupid loud actually. Im going to make a silencer for it over the weekend before the boys in blue give me a work order.
I will give it a rough road dyno tune with my hand held tuner (innovate tuner)
Next mod will be to open up the intake manifold and looking at the turbo that comes off the Charade 900cc turbo. Rough figures show I would be spooling and boosting by 9k RPM through to 13-14k.....not sure if i want to do it yet could be a bit wild with a skinny tyre snapping lose at that RPM.
There is plenty of room for an oil cooler , intercooler and turbo at the front.....oo and cant forget a little tiny waste gate and BOV.

I cnc cut up some ali plate and tig welded some sides on so its nice....didnt chop....
Cop has already pulled my over for that one yesturday as I was coming down hay st. Told me hes coming to visit me next week to make sure I have the factory mud guard back on or he is giving me work order.
And yea I cant help myself with modding anything with an engine. I sleep with a torque wrench.
Im gonna tune up the jet kit over the next few days...stick a fresh batch of mineral oil and a new filter in and see how well it goes then.....if im still hungry time to slap it with a turbo. It doesnt really cost me anything to turbo the bike as I have about every last machine required to fabricate the parts up to make a turbo kit. So its really a case of I can so I will.
If anyone else ever wants to mod their bike feel free to buzz me....more than happy to lend a hand and tools. Have a private workshop n hoist etc etc.
I noticed when the bike had done only 20ks there is an oil weep coming from just above the sump at the front. I hope it goes away or ill be tempted to split the block , re sleeve , port polish, bore, hone balance, nitride, plasma coat aarrrrr shit just fuked up a perfectly good bike.

Mate, my first bike was a 1973 HD 1000cc Ironhead Sporty. From what I can gather, it started out with barely a weed pulling 65-80HP. Everyone said I was mad, but I spent every cent that I could earn and borrow to turn it into a firebreather. At the end of a 2year initial ground up build, I had spent over 25K on it not including the purchase price. There was no bolt on bling.
All of my mates rode 80+cu evos, and never let up bagging my bike. Out came the engine again, another loan, onother 6 months, and I was pulling 111HP. I snapped sprocket bolts, and destroyed 2 gearboxes once I got it on the road.
All of this was done in a shed so small, that I had to take off my forks, back wheel, and guard to get it out the door.
Tricking up that bike taught me so much about what I could do with a dream.
You are going to cop a lot of shit tricking up a 2fiddy. At the end of this build you will have a bike that will be blown into the weeds by pretty much any stocker with more cubes. Rest assured tho, you will never forget the achievement of building your very own, and personal, piece of motorcycle art. Keep us posted.

Can you get a 150/60 tyre on the back?
Might look a little chunky though

if ya gunna go turbo you might have to buy a bunky to ride in the meantime.
what power do you rekon you could get wiith a turbo?
I think going turbo on a 4cil would give better results.
I wonder how strong the crank and cases are??
is it 2 or 4 valves/cil??

A ZX2 transplant maybe?... or you could always do a rs250 motor transplant, and swing arm, and front forks & brakes.... wait a sec - why dont you just put 250R fairings on an RS250?.... and then turbo it - of course....

Rizzo..put it on myself...polished it too whilst I was eating a meat pie.
Put the jets on as well....easy as.....yea very noticeable gain. From what the sales blurb says you wil get an extra 5HP atw. I havent done anything close to what I call a tune....and it goes hard....but way too loud.
Ihi RHF3 seems to be the go for a turbo. But carbies have to go.
Im thinking motec and some antilag is the go. I got a 4 year old motec that came off the WRX when I put a Autronic on it. Should be a breeze to wire in.
I can go two ways.....bolt it all on run it at 4-5 PSI which will hit boost at 8-9k RPM...
The engine will blow its just a matter of time.......
Then put in a decomp plate , pistons, rods, cam, crank rebore. sleeve.
With the mods right now and by the time I stick some intake breathing mods on it I think ill get about 31-32Hp up from 24-25 quoted.
A straight turbo running 4-5 PSI will take that to about 45HP...and EFI and rebuilt engine should see 70HP pending a meat inspection in the block to see how much snot and piss i can pump through it.
I have no idea on the strength of these blocks.....are they the same as a GPX block does anyone know? If so Ill go get one and stick it on my engine dyno and go nuts. Then I can just plug n play with only a day or two down time.
Or just do it all flat out to begin with.
Personally id love to just bolt it up and blow it
Not worried about a bunky to drive got a few other cars to drive. Although your right I want another bike to ride.
And no amount of people telling me im stupid will ever stop me.
I figure it will take ducati 3 months to build my duke when I put the order in and i got 11 months till I can ride a big bike legally. Thats plenty of time for me to do some really dumb *&^^* And 30 is coming up quick....need to get this shit out of my system before I have kids and have to be responsible.

man ur all sorted!!! even got the motec. is it a M300?? they keep all the tuning softtware on the website for free download, hopefully your unit has been fully unlocked and has all the modules. Dont do anti lag its not a wrx.
I have a feeling you wont be able to run boost through ya carbs coz it wont pull enuf vacuum to draw the fuel through (might even force the fuel bcck into the tank). just inject it from the go.
i would recomend picking up s throttle body set from a 750, chop the bank, space the bodies up and tweak e fuel rail up. Remember you wil have to mount a fuel pump in. you could go in tank or external, but you will most likely have to plumb up a fuel return into the tank. Prolly enlargen the breather hole aswell.
If ya have an engine dyno why not buy a bunky ZZR wth a good engine and chuck it on ya dyno and get it sorted then just do an engine swap.
nahh fukit buy a wreccked bike for the engine and pull it apart new rings, shotpeen the rods, higher strength studs, maybe a set of forged pistons. then you can build up the spare engine wile you play with the other. And if you discover the cases arent strong enough you still have your good engine.

Sweet oversized throttle body thats what I wanted to hear.
Any idea on what injectors to use?
I got a spare 044 bosch intank pump might be a bit much on a little motor bike battery and alt though.
I can sleeve and rib /deck hone a little bike block myself. As for moving parts will get that balanced up by the PRO's
Any ideas on the rods.....im thinking carrillo as they have a good design for reduced windage....
Intake manifold Ill go custom and fab up something out of ali and tig it up. Join it up to a bigger TB like you said.
Should be able to get the whole lot up on an engine dyno then straight swap out.
I have an old motec m48 clubman.
The rear tyre will have to go wider as mentioned above.....this will require a bit more effort though...
And thanks for the crazy support from the people who have done this before....will save me time /effort dosh.
