Nah all good, i went over to a paint shop and got one of those sundstrom respirators, they are awesome Sunday looks like its gonna be 27C so it looks like the painting will be happening!

Well yes the bike has been fully painted black, and i dare say the project is finished...for now.

Ill come back to this thread if I do decide to do some more work on it.

Ignoring the amazing paint shop skills, you should definately lower that front head light IMO.

just a sujestion and most wownt agree but you can get a black streemlined enduro head light and they give a nicer fron end look on the street fighters, my boss had the twins and changed to the enduro and it now looks like its not just been slaped on, thats on a fire storm though.

ollie, problem with the enduro lights is that they are not bright enough for the street...I agree they do look pretty nice and I would put them on, but they just arent bright enough.

Ok...so the R1 decided to spit the dummy and started slipping out of 2nd gear...typical R1.

It has only started happening recently so i have decided rather then waiting, i will fix it straight away.

Status:
Pulled the motor out, and it is sitting on the floor on a tyre, and have begun taking the bottom section off, to get to the gears.

Meanwhile I am thinking about stripping it down to the frame and powdercoating it black, as i have wanted to do this for a while now. Only thing holding me back is my thoughts "once i powder coat it black, there is no going back" - I need opinions on the powdercoat, yes or no?

So yes...this is it for now, only got a few more bolts to undo before i get to the troubled gears, will update when i pull them out.

Eek, been through this and can be tricksy. Good luck mate.

Not sure about coating the frame black. Then the whole bikes basically black. Thought of doing it a different colour ?, red maybe to match the wheel stripes

Yeh im starting to think i might just leave the frame as it is...otherwise like you said, the bike will be all black.
