Rebuild of CBR 600

Well I thought i would share with you all what my weekends will be full of over the comming weeks.
I just bought this bike last week with the intention of giving it to my wife as a present. The bike has had a drop on the left side as can be seen. My wife is only 5'2" so I plan on lowering the bike and stripping it fully back. I plan to replace all fairings and some motor parts. Not sure what else I will do and will have to see as i go along.

Yes bought it from mike and he seems ok. Hurt his collarbone but is walking around ok.Got it for a good price so thought it would be worth the exercise to rebuild.

Just lowered the bike 1 inch have done new bar ends, indicators and some minor stuff. Have ordered Repsol kit and just waiting. Will post up some pics shortley. The bike is in a million pieces. I have started to repair the old fairing for fun and is comming out well. Plastic welding is not that bad.

Well the missus got frustrated waiting for the repsol kit so asked me to get the fixed fairings back on so we could go for a ride. Funny story is that I spend several hours putting the bike back together to find out it wouldn't start. No luck for the ride. At this stage the wife is getting upset with me so I call a friend to help and fault find. Several hours pass and still no joy. Check fuses, fuel injection, ignition and still no luck. Re strip the entire bike again its now midnight. I wish somebody had told me that CBRs are fitted with tilt sensors. If you bolt it back on upside down which is easy the bike wont start. Am I dumb.
Well after a frustrating night I decide to call it quits and continue the next day.
Well surprise surprise guess what arrives in the mail. (The fairing).
What a complete waist of time. I spent the next day installing the new fairing. Buy the way if you are interested the fairing look great and fitting isn't that bad. Have a look and tell me your thoughts.Photos are off work in progress will post more when finished. Still have belly pan to go.
