    RR - Rogwicks Ride

Thought I would open up a thread and display my ride

Late last year saw the new addition of my new(ish) motorcycle. I would like to introduce my 09 CBR600RR. I purchased the bike second hand with 791kms on it. It's had the first check service and the next is at 6,000km, so not for a while.

    Honda CBR600RR

    Model: Honda CBR600RR
    Year: 2009
    Category: SuperSports
    Displacement: 599cc
    Engine Type: In-line four, four-stroke
    Compression: 12.2:1
    Valves per cylinder: 4
Fuel system: Injection. Dual Stage Fuel Injection (DSFI) with 40mm throttle bodies, Denso 12-hole injectors
    Cooling system: Liquid cooled
    Gearbox: 6spd Manual

Wet Weight (incl oil, fuel, brake fluid etc): 186kg
    Fuel Capacity: 18.16 litres
    Power: 88kW (119.65HP) @ 13500 rpm
    Torque: 66Nm @ 11250 rpm
    Power-to-weight ratio: 0.46 HP/kg
    Acceleration (0-100 km/h): 3.2 sec
    Top speed: 260 km/h
Odometer: Picked it up with 791kms on it. Now just over 1,000kms

Currently stock, I have a few plans which will come in time. Probably one of the first things on the list will be frame sliders or oggy knobs. Perhaps a racing cowl and down the track an exhaust, maybe two brothers or Akrapovic. I think a tinted screen might be a little too over the top being black all ready.

Sweet ride mate. Nice blank canvas you've got there. I have always liked the look of the under tail exhaust.

Thanks mate! Spent enough on the car so thought I might put a little into the bike. Yeah the standard exhaust looks great, sounds ok on idle but on song reminds me of a high revving 250cc. Not to mention I like the idea of drivers hearing me, not that, that will stop them cutting me off though!

First things first.. Put some good tyres on it (OEM tyres are usually shit) and take it to an RAC or Trackdayz course. You will be on a high for a week after.

Thanks mate, yeah I'll have to get round to it but on a decent road. Need to get me some biker pants, my last pair of jeans ripped like paper lol. I'm planning on one of the driving centre tracks. I believe they're covered by insurance also. Track-day should be coming up early this year for the car, bike will be the next thing on the list.

For sports riding I've not heard a bad word about Bridgestone BT016's, though I was reccomended Metzler K3's recently. I'm runnning Dunlop Qualifiers at the moment and they don't seem too bad but feel a bit wooden unless I really warm them up, they've lasted close to 8000kms though so I must not be riding hard enough.

RAC advanced ride day is here -> http://dtec.com.au/rider-training-au...d-ride-day.htm They have good instruction and relevant road techniques. Plus you get to blast around a super tight, fun track.

Cheers for the info. I've heard good and bad re: Dunlop tyres. I had Bridgestone's tyres on my car from factory and they were crap, then again, it was a car hard to compare. I'm not too fussed on mileage, rather more grip than more usage.

Sweet, I'll look into it. I take it you've completed said rider day course and had a blast as well as learnt a thing or two. Far from the experienced rider so I would be interested to have a look into it at some stage. Track day in the car should be some fun also!

Akra exhaust ordered from the US and ASV levers are made to order but should be on the way shortly. Early Christmas as it would seem!

So I got round to installing the exhaust and levers on the weekend. All in all, it was pretty straight forward. No real drama's. I'm always nevous about taking the fairings off and snapping clips etc. Luckily all was good. I managed to retain the stock heat shielding, a few minor modifications were needed for this but the result is a stock fit exhaust. The Akrapovic really fits well. Everything lined up perfectly. The construction is brilliant and really matches typical Honda quality, fit and design which I like. The unit is the Akrapovic 'Racing' exhaust system which is 4-2-1 from the headers back. No catalytic converter straight through pipe. The exhaust comes with an optional sound baffle (not shown) I've taken it out but its nice to have the option of removing it and going loud compared to reasonably quiet (considering)

I never understand why people keep saying this. Do some of you guys work for tyre shops? I didn't get the impression that the guy is going to race it with those tyres - plus given he rides in shorts and runners (not judging, just saying) he isn't going to push too hard on the road.

Back on topic - nice ride; have fun on it!

The Michelin tyres, from what I've heard are better, and I know stock tyres on my car were pretty average, but yeah correct. I don't usually push it too hard around corners and there is too much loose gravel around local roads. No point upgrading tyres if the stock ones have 4000kms on them. Lol, yeah I have a bad habit of wearing shorts on hot days. I know what its like to fall off too, trying to wear jeans more often but I still ride in shorts from time to time if its just a local easy trip (still a bad habit I know).

Thanks, that's the plan. I like riding and also working on it. Keeps me busy!

Love ya work ~ but I'm not sure about that exhaust, it looks a little like I should pop some bread in it to make toast.

Is there 2 pipes into one opening?
