    Suzuki SFV650 Gladius 2009

Hey. Wanted one of these since they were released. Bought a '99 SV650S instead coz it was cheaper. Now in a position to get newer bike - bought this beauty last month, August.

    2009 Suzuki SFV650 Gladius, 8456kms.

Only mod at time of purchase was Yoshi can.

Looked like this in my garage:

And like this against the pretty Leschenault Estuary:

My first action was to add these Swing arm spools, from Ebay:

Then came the bar end mirrors... Goodbye antler antenna jobbies!

Here's my dodgy sticker removal effort (and coincidental colour coordination with my work ute):

Reflective Rim stripes and blue aluminium valve caps in place:

After the removal of the side stickers and replacement with tribal style decals, she's now looking like this:

I am very happy with what I have got to so far. Next to come will be Tail Tidy, Rad guard and custom seat!

    Cheers for looking :-)

    Ace.

best thing about you living in bunbury is that the cops don't know anything about fender eliminators, which will make life a lot easier when you put one on

I came across this thread when I was googling for pictures of the SFV650 Gladius - I really like what you've done to your bike Ace dude

What can you tell me what you're thinking of it so far, and also how it compares to your previous bike(s)?

For the record I was actually googling for more pics of the red gladius - I believe in Australia they only have the white(blue) and black versions?

RR - The SFV is a superb all-round bike. It does exactly what it was built for: gives the rider a comfy stance, handles well, has enough power to use in any real world situation, and puts out a healthy V-Twin note to get a bit of attention :-) My first bike was a Suzuki Across - great little learner but I am not right into faired bikes. Next was the SV650S which I purchased as a cheaper alternative to the SFV as that's what my budget allowed at the time. They are a top bike, sportier seating position than the SFV and mine had a wicked rumble to with a Genie exhaust, but it made me feel I wanted to race all the time on the road. On the Gladius I am cool calm and collected - they way I like to feel when sitting on a powerful rocket with wheels :-P

I have only ever see one other SFV on the road and it was the black colour scheme (i live in a country town). There has just been started up an SFV forum SFVBikers - The Home of the Suzuki Gladius - Index on which a guy in NT has a red one... so they must be available in Oz somewhere. Hope you get your hands on one, you wont be disappointed!

jmoore - For sure mate, we have some great roads here, and I am in the Dalyellup area too.

a lot of the cops in bunbury/capel/australind/dally there also ride in their spare time, ive even seen a psb sticker on one of their personal bikes when they pulled a car over off duty!!!

Its not that they dont know about fender eliminators ... its more that they arent draconian like our police friends in the metro area and merely turn a blind eye to these kitten killing, child dismembering fender eliminators.

    sweet bike..

the red is LAMS... the other colour(s) weren't sent here...

I was looking at these when I was shopping, but I couldn't find any delaer that would let me test ride... so I gave up on buying one.

I have some links at home I will post here for you.. the parts you can get from Suzuki UK is insane.. I have links to a whole pdf brochure... Screen, Carbon fibre, sticker kits... none of it will be cheap though

Nice work Ace... I see the new naked Bandit 1250 looks very much like the Gladius. If you want to upgrade they are a good all rounder too.
