Just a quick update guys. No pics for this one though.
I had a problem with the clutch inner binding on the clutch basket when I tightened the locking nut on to the clutch hub (probably due to the modified beltdrive clutch basket being thicker than the original due to the sealed bearing in it instead of 20 free rollers, though I havent actually checked the dimensions of the baskets), anyway after much removing and refitting I figured I needed a spacer between the clutch hub and the lock washer, I made one up out of some alloy bar I had around and "hey presto", the inner doesn't bind on the outer anymore, clutch now works fine, I also had to get a new push rod as the one with the bike was short by about 1/2 an inch, looks like someone had made it up without measuring the original properly.
I ran out of time after sorting out the clutch but my next step is to remove gearbox and take it to Trojan for a tear down and inspection. They will tell me what parts need replacing (all the seals for a start I figure) and get them in, then I have the fun job of reassembling it having never done a gearbox before. I'll also take the frame in to have the brackets welded up then I can start the final dry assembly and start the motor for the first time before tear down and paint.

Another quick update to get me back on page one again. I haven't had much time since Xmas due to illness in the family but have sourced most on the components for the wiring as well as upgrading from single phase to a 3 phase altenator and a 3 phase reg/rec unit from Trispark through Trojan Classics. Total cost for this was $320 and will give much improved electrics.
I have also spoken to the guys at shock treatment about some gold valve emulators and new springs for the front end about $370 for the lot and this will make the front end handle like a modern bike should.

I was just getting pricing and availability info really for the suspension, it's on the to do list which is growing all the time. The stator will most likely be fitted next time I get up to the inlaws where the bike is and I would like to test fit the trispark reg/rec unit and see if I can get a complete circit (got a cheep $40 multimeter today at Jacar). I would like to get the oil tank plumbed up and try and get some spark hapenning to. I know I wont get that far next time I'm there but I can dream can't I. The main thing I need is time but thing just arn't going my way at the moment. I'll try to remember to take some pics and put them up next time to.

A quick update as I havent loaded the pics up yet. I spent the day at Phantom 1500's place with his impressive laith and milling setup. He machined several spacers and a new longed nut to secure my Rotor as well as drilling and tapping my rotor and front belt drive sprocket which can now me bolted together for a more secure fit on the crank shaft. Apart from a minor mistake in the afternoon when he was hurrying a bit (which is now fixed), the Phantom has done a great job and for the princley sum of $100 for about 4 & 1/2 hours labour, I am stocked with the results. A huge Thanks to Darren for his help, and if your a PSB member in Sydney and need some machining done, drop Phantom 1500 a line and Im sure he would be happy to help you out.
I also scored a new Oil tank from Trojan classics last week, a good quality tank from Factory Metal works made to Trojans high standards. I was originally quoted $300 but paid $275 So I'm happy with that.
I have moved the bike much closer to home now so I should be able to do more work and updates soon.

Here's a pic of the bike in it's new home under the neighbours house. I pulled the forks off the other day and I hope to get them out to shock treatment in the next week or so to sort out new springs and the gold valve emulators.
I also got a 23 piece tap & die box set in BSCy from the UK this week, it arrived Sunday by courier, good service.
Also got a set of Stainless allen bolts for the engine covers on the way and a trick clutch cover plate/actuator from SRM arriving soon to.

I got a call today from Terry Hay at shock treatment, he cant fit my forks with Gold valve emulators because they are old Honda CB450 forks with an early type of cartradge setup in them, it's to fiddly and expensive to convert them so now I will be getting a set of modern cartridges fitted with gold valves and custom fitted to my fork outers. will end up with a better setup that the emulators and easier adjustment with the rebound damping adjustment in the fork cap. He will get a set of cartridges someone has swapped out for a better set say a set of Ohlins and valve them for me. This is proving to be expensive though at a little over a grand but probably better than any other off the shelf solution. Im sure it'll worth it.

^^is that an upgrade that you could do after you've been on the road a while tee-bird or are the forks just about a write off at the moment?
