    TnT R160 Project

With the RS off to Sydney on thursday. I've began compiling the parts to modify the TnT.
Fairly simple as just about everything I will obtain will come via 3 dealers.
First up Maniac Motors in Germany:
    1. Benelli Scantool, handset, called the Bendia, for all diagnostics of the Walbro TDD ecu and setting CO reading in both map modes.
    2. Robby Moto Engineering parts, Tornado RS black billet top triple clamp to clean up the look for when the TnT Cafe Racer billet clips-ons go on, and Matris steering damper.
    3. Merlotti tail tidy
    4. Benelli Officine swingarm billet pit stand pick-ups
    5. Robby Moto billet TnT sport rear sets.
Then Carbon.SK in Slovakia, for some carbon fibre pieces:
    1. Open clutch cover for the dry slipper clutch
    2. Carbon surrounds for the dash, and i may get a carbon piece to cover the petrol tanks centre line and ignition key surround.
    3. Rear seat cowling as per the Cafe Racer, to be painted in pearl white with a centre strip of exposed carbon.
Finally GPR Exhausts in Italy for a pipe section to remove the cat converter, although I'm tempted to go the HPE/ Tubistyle titanium racing system that does without the exhaust butterfly valve as fitted to the limited TnT Titanium's that were made.
I'm still trying to ascertain whether this is to boost low end torque, or just lower low rpm noise to pass regs.

The end goal, is to recreate this TnT RS which was the factory naked bike racer from 06/07, I hit the factory up for a road going version on special order, but due to homologation issues its was a no from the factory.
    Until now

Men have motorcycles while women have mensutral cycles, you can't talk to either while they are on it. The women's also has a sound, it goes nag-na-nag-nag-nag, biiiiiitch-bitch-biiiiiiiitch!

some bits are arriving this week

Some came along and i had to nab them via the Benelli forum and via ebay.
Benelli garage mat, been chasing one for years, even with "repeated" emails to the old importer practically begging for one i never got a response, low and behold, a ex employee of theirs put one up for sale on ebay, wanting hundreds for one, offered him $80 and he accepted.

Merlotti tail tail with LED indicators from a forum member in the UK with a 2010 R160, now sold, and he said to me "Nath, i made the mistake of test riding the new 2011 Tuono" LOL...

Scored a new old stock Benelli Sport jacket out italy, just had to suss out some armour to go in the elbow and forearm/shoulder pockets. they used to retail around a grand back in 03/05, when they actually were available, they arent any more, not bad for $$$'s, goes along with my Pista jacket.

Located a Extreme-Tech steering damper from a Limited edition Tornado, brand new from around 01/02, owner packed itt away from new and put a Ohlins on his LE.

Another item I've spent years looking for, some Benelli banners to go up in the garage along with a TnT screen printed flag.

Pista Jacket 1.jpgPista jacket 2.jpgcarbon chain guard.jpgcarbon lens.jpgalso scored a near new CF screen and chain guard from previous R160 owner

that will probably be it until the bikes rolls up, except for a set of black billet hand levers (Bike uses same master cylinder as Ducati's Streetfighter, so I'm weighing up options) and the de-cat link pipe.

then again I'm applying for another job, if that comes together i will be cashing in quite a bit of leave from my current job. In which case some additional Xmas shopping might happen :-).

On another note, look for the Nelli's new home (aka the shed) to be coming to a edition of Rapid Bikes soon ;-)...pity the photos dont actually have a bike in it LOL...

    Couple more bits have arrived

Rizoma billet bar end mirrors, coutesey of fellow PSB member Speirsy, these were originally shown on the Cafe Racer prototypes shown at EICMA, with production bikes having plastic ones installed
Also had some billet rizoma sport grips in the shed that I never fitted to the Tornado.

next is some billet adjustable black brake and clutch levers. :-)

well finally the importers have import approval and the bike will be here just before Xmas.
In the meantime a Benelli forum member is selling his 899S over in Qld and I managed to score some parts .
Robby Moto billet rear stand, pretty damm impressive build quality.
Benelli Officine billet paddock stand / swingarm clamps.
Some sort of aftermarket rear seat cowling to replace the pillion seat, madeSeat%20cover%20and%20paddock%20stand%20007.jpg by "rapidinside' in Italy, who make moto 2 bikes and other rapid prototyping gear from what i can gather. part is pretty impressive, and with Benelli wanting $1000 for the factory CF cowling i paid a 1/10th of that.
I suspect it may be from a 3D printer?
Eventually a fibreglass cafe racer copy will be bought too as I prefer the CR design. this cowling may have been a 899S option, still trying to determine that.

    Roll on Xmas :-)
