You'll still need to find a fab shop that will help weld it up. Look into the legislation on getting it licenced before you chop anything though..
    Cheers!!

If you want to hardtail a bike, it might be better to pick a bike that has been done before and weld-on hardtail kits are readily available for. Maybe consider a Triumph Bonnie, Harley Sportster or a Yamaha XS650 as they are all done often and kits are easy to find.

You can of course Chop anything you like if you've got he skills or know someone who does and have deep pockets. Heck my buddy Brett just sold an SR250 which he hardtailed.

If you're serious about a project like this I can give you a list of a few people that can do this kind of work for you.

If you want it to be all legal, then the bike will become an ICV so you'll need to apply to DPI for approval to make this modification and get an engineer involved who's willing to sign off on the completed work.

Have a look on www.xjbikes.com as a few have been done there, but all seem to be custom, not from a kit. Being shaft drive is a factor to be worked into the design as well.
