Yamaha XS750 Triple cafe Racer Project

    Hey guys,

i am currently converting a Yamaha XS750 triple into a Cafe Racer. all is going well at present but still deciding the design.

I am pulling out the motor this weekend, so can anyone recommend a mechanic too recondtion the engine.

I spoke with ray easson, he sounds pretty good but never used hime and recommendations are a big thing too me.

    Can anyone suggest?

Hamish Engineering in Welshpool has done a shit load of work on my triples over the years for me. Ray Easson has done work on another triple that i know of, its generally a personal preference in the end....
I've got a 750 Special model like what you've got, if you havent already had a look, check this thread - Yamaha Triple Cafe Racer

also have a look at www.yamaha-triples.org

    Thanks guys, appreciate your help.

Triple, you have anice project there, would love too get together too pick your brain.

I looked at a seat for the bike at http://www.caferace.com/Merchant2/me...gory_Code=RRBT and will be looking at buying.

I have the orginal tank but will be looking for a cafe racer style as the orginal is just too big and bulky.

I will be working on it tomorrow so will post some more photos on progress.
    Thanks again and happy restoring...........

No worries, I'll be happy to help when I've got some time.
Also I might have a spare XS750 standard tank around, I'll have a look.......

    Hey Guys,

Just an update! Bike went in today for fab work to be done. Gave in to Justin from Pro Twin in Malaga, awesome service and very helpful. He's a specialist in Ducati but caters for all fab work.

    Some parts arrived last week:

Tacho arrived so I rewired immediately.

    Speedo arrived so also rewired........

    Slimline Shocks arrived.................nice and chrome...........

    Chrome Horn.............

    All the Bits and Bobs....................

Still more parts arriving and the next thing i gotta get is a set of Rearsets.

Its a slow process, but hey, gotta get it ready for summer.................hopefully!!!!!!!

I know this is an old thread, but I'm into cafe racers. Plenty of 'to do' cafe racers in the shed but nothing on the road yet. Anyways, just wondered if there were any pics of this bike as it looks like its the making of a gem?

    Hi PSB'ers & Happy Easter,

Well its been a while as been on hold with a lot of things due too work and just having no time.

I am in the process of starting to finish a few things but need your help: I need some referral contacts. I need someone to weld my tank as gave to a friends and he fucked it, he tried welding with a mig welder and put a hole in it so wondering if anyone has contacts.

Also I have a seat I want upholstered in black leather. I have the leather and the foam seat just need a professional to do for me.

Also a good spray painter as I need the cafe Seat, Tank, Drive shaft (Diff), and wheels sprayed.

let me know contacts guys as I don't wanna go through anyone as referrals are better as work has been seen.

thanks guys and will put photos up soon.

    Stay Safe!!!
