whoops! correction 41t was used on the rear not a 45t, but the point is the powerband will catch you out even for someone with experience with this type of engine, doing mono's mid corner as you twist the throttle is easily done but not a nice experience when your not ready for it.
Agreed... Luckily for me the weight of the old LC, plus the longer RGV swinger and the 38T rear will hopefully mean its a bit calmer, but yeah, there will be a Powerband and it will need to be treated with some sense in the corners... And if im wrong or just get it wring, then im covered, my Mrs has upped my life assurance... LOL!

He He, about the life insurance.
When I bought my first road bike TZR250 (way back when).
The first thing my old Cheese bought me was Ambulance cover.
Still keen to hear how she runs, even if ED thinks my skirt will get caught in the chain.

Hi All,
Well its been a while, been busy with work & family so this break finally had some time to continue the bike build.
Last update I was onto overheating issue.... got around to trialing some scoops yesterday with instant success. Its off to the aliminium shop Monday for the professional Bling version.
Ive also fitted the highriser bars to bring it back to the normal riding position. Carbs & Pipes are next..... Breathe in - Breathe out!
Lozza - I owe you a call in the next week.
Jon W - Great looking bike - Im off to paint shop in about 6 weeks all going well.
Cheer

Wecome back Oiler, very nice build,
John, Steve and Benno kept this great build/thread going in your absence, very informative lads, thankyou.
I have read all pages, are they Tarozzi Bars (60mill risers) that you have strapped under the top triple tree of that beast?
Seahorse,
I will dig out who i bought the risers from... i know Tarozzi were on the shortist at the time... it took a while to track the right quality & size down as i recall...pricy but lots of chinese copies out there which i could not trust my life with given they are a situation critical component. Im going out for ride if the weathers clear tomorrow to put a few more miles on her and if i get lucky i might do a bit of video work.
Lozza - caught up with that guy you mentioned today and the pipe fitup looks good....was very helpful thankyou.
cheers

yeah they sure are aggressive i think the answer is zeeltronic or equivalent ..i have always found that the stock lc wheels stands far too easily in the first place thats why i love em..lol.. so this will be even more interesting.. i saw the video of me flipping the mito again yesterday ..man it traumatizes me everytime..lol
I agree the RGV swinger does put the wheel much futher back and make for a longer bike, but it will still wheelie, for sure!
u posting up the vid Justin?

Fitted up 32mm flat slide carbs & Boss Racing Inlets today... bit tricky getting the throttle linkage right but was worth the extra effort to stick with stock throttle cable - came up real neat.
Im staying with oil injection also so will order a couple injection nozzles from Yamaha Bits and then onto the last item - pipes. IMG_0299.jpgIMG_0306.jpgIMG_0309.jpg.

Brian the paint work came up a treat!Interesting that your going with oil pump,is this the TSS setup? Also have a link for these carb inlets?Pipes? You have a local builder?
LB,
I wanna stick with oil lube for two reasons really;
1. I have a rebuilt oil pump on-board and 2. i just dont ride close enough to the edge to be worrying about "leaning out" so its an easy choice for me.
The inlet risers i picked up on ebay from Boss Racing... they were expensive...and well ported out but really i settled on these after looking at the Banshee grooved units which were a $100 more expensive, and for what i could see was little advantage for the money.
The Athena kit im running is without the 4mm spacer plate so it fouls the clutch arm with the bigger carbs hence the risers.
The Carb specification was done in conjunction with Mikuni Townsville - Tom Hattrick who was very helpful on this, its a proven spec so that added some comfort when shelling out for the Carbs. I ran it up today and got good throttle response so pleased with my choice.
As for the pipes, i have had a pipe design done but when you looked at it the selection called up a big body, which although might be a good match will be crap for ground clearance and that wouldn't be too smart to end up on your arse after spending +10k on a build.... So im going with something in between and see how it goes, the dyno results look very good and i have been around to see them on a RD and i like the look and the body clearance. I have a set of carbon Tyga cans waiting for the body, which i will get to place an order for finally this coming week..
Heads Up! - I will also be selling off more hard to come by spares (fuel tank, side covers & tail, and a set of stock carbs) at some point soon.
Cheers
BW
