Aprilia RS 250 Woes :(
Hey guys
Just got my rs 250 back on the road and took her for a big ride yesterday. I was riding along and hit a small pot hole (rather big jolt when I did this). Next thing my Speedo starts going insane. It was jumping from 100 to 350 to 20 to 0.
It did this for about 12 km then just got stuck on 0. So first thoughts are a lose connection. IV looked at the 3 plugs that connect to the front of the bike one being the plug for the front head lights and the other 2 IV got no idea but they seem all good.
IV looked through my maintenance manual and can’t find anything on the where the Speedo sensor is on the bike. Could anyone give me a pic or tell me where it is?
My guess is it’s off the front or back wheel?

The cables on the front wheel on the 125....it'll be in your manual
Edit; just read it's not in your manual

Speed sensor is on the rear wheel (post 98 models anyway) part of the caliper hanger

my speed sensor is on the back wheel.. "its the only thing on the road at times" you could have a bad earth or the battery is on its way out. loose connection..
start looking for the silly things that would cause this problem. my tacho went nuts for a bit after i installed the zeeltronic but i worked it out quick..

what have you done spiz.. i believe the pickl up is on the rear wheel but it does sound like a earth/power problem or the sensor has crapped itself... did you finally get it over to wa will have to talk to you about bike transport for mine

I too had one of the wires pull put of the rear sensor, simply removed rubber, resoldered it back on and use black silicone to replace the rubber.

thanks for the help guys and it may be an earthing problem but its only the KPH reading that is going funny on the dash im guessing an earthing problem would be effecting the whole bike? and sidewinder ill chat to you on ts some time this week it was easy as to get the bike over my way.
