hopefully mv do when with the 675 and bring out their four stroke single.
The update of the first shape, the lawson and kocinski replicas, were the best looking in my opinion. The red and black aped the colour scheme of the Cagiva GP bikes of the time and the holes in the fairings were full-on GP technology! I haven't ridden a Mito but have ridden the Aprilia RS125 and the Gilera CX125 (remember that!) and they were excellent fun.

hey mate i remember years ago when my modification dreams started, i was looking to put a cr500 engine in a tzr2ma frame i did a lot of reserch and spoke to guys/mechanics/engineers who had done the same thing...and they all had the same answer... it will distroy its self and the vibes are unbareable..literally could not ride it for more then 10 mins. no matter how it was mounted, braced or filled with sand..lol,,they all destroyed and fractured the chasis ... im not telling u what to do..but just a heads up of what to expect... even the really big bore banshee engines have the same probs in stiff road based frames

Great post Steve! Love these little flyers, great styling etc.
have you thought about a big bore rz motor for it...... but the cr500 is a weapon of a motor.... who cares about vibrations![]()
1984 rz 350 stroker
1984 rz 500 original
2004 mv agusta f4 1000
1994 mitsubishi magna wagon
"who cares aout vibes" well for me i would not want to put time and money into something i could only ride for 5 -10min at a time... we are not talkin a lil buzzy..we are talkin seroius hand numbing vibrations..
the first set of banshee barrels i had in my mito were a set of dune ported barrels...awsome power but at 5-6000 rpm ie cruizing speeds, it would shake and vibe out... i could not jet it out...it was horrible and even tho it wa smooth befor and after it made me not wanna ride it. thats when i swapped to the athena top end which was perfectly smooth...
there is another alernative.. suzuki quadziller engine 500cc water cooled with "balance shaft" it is supose to a sweet thing i was talkin to a guy a while back using one...i did not even know they existed...
it would be interesting how good the engine would be in a steel frame..rz? with moded rear and front?
my mate has an 04 mito for sale lic running( WA) $2900...pm me quick for details...lol

Subscribed......very interesting...I would love to take on a project like this, but unless I got my shed build, there is no point of starting it...

It's good to know that it didn't get parted out, as this was one option looked at when he got rid of her at the time. How was the ride? Behave well on the track?
not too shabby id say by the look of that rear tire...im soo keen to get on the track i just bought a trailer so id be down to take out the tzr
On the 28mm carbs she was very lumpy (vibrated like mad) now with twin 35mm PKW supplied via RZMAN very smooth. The R1 front end was a little chattery in and out of corners (soft as it would go) now has a Honda RS 250 front end and the stock barrels are getting ported and replated via Craig @ MMT (Sydney). Can't wait to get her engine back in and get back on the road.
MMT Motorcycle Services, Judging by 25 years in the business (and the range of services they offer), forum responses and recommended by Twinrock etc, seems like a sure bet. They don't up-sell things that aren't needed to replace so that's a plus, seem very approachable but i have never used them before and this is just a tester and I'll keep you posted on how the porting goes as well as the plating that might be done in Melbourne, unsure of name.
well craig races two strokes..tz,s i know they even do hydro reforming for dented chambers and stuff..just tell him what u want to use the bike for and he will do it.... i know another guy up this way jmc racing he does a great job too but thats for banshees...totally different purpose
